A fire in Calaveras County, California, stated that “The motorist escaped the location, and we can’t understand how anyone could have survived this collision.”

Calaveras County fire in California shared this statement: “The driver left the scene, and we can’t understand how anyone could have escaped from such a crash.”

D
The local VW dealer that used to be in my area kept a newspaper article framed on the wall. Two suspects fled from the police in a VW bug and crashed in excess of 100 miles an hour absolutely demolishing the car. The two men in the vehicle fled from the scene on foot.
R
The most astonishing part of that story is a VW Bug going 100 mph.
W
One of best bumper stickers I’ve seen was on a VW bus in early 90’s: 0-60 in 12 minutes
T
My dad had a ’68. His could only hit 60 if we were going downhill.
S
Trunk full of bricks and a tailwind
W
They even leaned into it themselves with the ads for the new Bugs: \> 0-60? Yes. [https://adsspot.me/media/prints/volkswagen-beetle-0-60-832029ed8573](https://adsspot.me/media/prints/volkswagen-beetle-0-60-832029ed8573)
Q
I can personally vouch that a modern New Beetle, like a 2016 turbo, can do at least 115.
M
Should be able to do a lot more than that. Even cheap modern turbo small cars will hit 140
R
The old ones could if you put in a Porsche engine and upgrade the transmission to handle it, but they wouldn’t have survived. A new bug I wouldn’t be caught dead in so I honestly can’t blame the perpetrators for fleeing on foot even if they were to die from their injuries soon after.
C
Ejected and laying in the woods?
H
Ejected and carried off/scavenged by predators is entirely possible *there’s an estimated 45 active mountain lions in the county for context
C
That’s not that many, you should see all the cougars that live in my area
D
What’s odd is that when I moved to another state, the cougars moved to the exact same area as I did. I’m starting to think they are stalking me.
C
They have your scent. No need to run anymore. They know where you are.

T
I accept my fate.
T
If you sew googly eyes on the back of a hat, they’ll be less likely to attack. Just don’t buy them a beer.
S
Instead of the snail its a cougar following you
T
What is strange about it is there is still a snail trail
B
Just going by the ads alone
T
Turns out cougars just feast on your identity and credit card/ bank information!
C
They do love swiping
R
Yea but I think pornhub inflates those numbers.
H
I think those are more interested in men ejaculating in a car instead of being ejected from a car

My plane’s on fire, I have to get off!
B
A kid I knew in highschool was stabbed and pushed off a cliff and left for dead, was only paralyzed. Got eaten by coyotes that night. As heartless as it sounds, it doesn’t take wildlife long to find fresh meat.
S
If he was left for dead and eaten by coyotes, how does anyone know he was still alive and paralyzed?
B
If you want the morbid truth. It’s because he tried to crawl away to get help.
Y
did they catch the culprit?
B
Two of them killed themselves immediately after. Technically died before he did.
P
What the fuck? Like they stabbed him, pushed him, and then immediately killed themselves?
H
I’d guess it’s some kind of instant remorse. Like people who attempt suicide and regret their decision the moment they jump.
U
I believe that is literally everyone who jumps; no matter how badly they wanted to die a moment before, part of the brain takes over and goes “OH NO WE’RE FALLING HOLY FUCK WHY DID WE DO THIS”
B
All over a girl.
Z
Must have been a tough Monday back at school after that

An autopsy can tell all kinds of things, like if bite marks or other wounds happened before or after the person was dead, what the most likely cause of death was, what kind of weapon – if any – was used… In this case, it wouldn’t be too difficult I’d think. Body at base of cliff, stab wound, multiple injuries from falling, bite marks while he was still alive, no voluntary movement after he landed…
M
There are lots of ways to piece together what happened. They can tell if someone’s heart was still alive from blood patterns, if there heart is still beating, the wound will bleed more. So, they can tell if the person was alive by looking specifically at wounds from the wolves. They can tell if the person was still conscious by seeing there are defensive wounds on the arms from the person trying to protect themselves from an attacker. Or maybe from crawl patterns left in blood and dirt. You could then determine if the legs were paralyzed if there were crawling patterns that showed arms moving but legs being dragged.

W
They autopsied the coyotes, don’t ask me how they died.
R
They’re actually all still alive
I
Necropsy.
F
They took pictures of the remains then enhanced them a few times.
M
Just print the damn thing!
C
Well that’s horrifying.
I
This is my county, you never see them but you do run into the bones of their prey

At about midnight, a guy was racing down a street I used to live by. There was a huge bang and the whole neighborhood came out. Absolutely destroyed car in the front yard of a home on the east bound side of the road. No driver anywhere. Car was a firebird with T-tops. People from the apartment complex on the corner of the west bound side of the road came out and said it sounded like he hit the apartment. Sure enough, bricks were cracked on the corner of the apartment, large fresh wound on a tree next to the apartment. Still no driver. So the car hit the corner of the apartment, hit a tree, went across 4 lanes of traffic and came to a rest in the front yard on the other side of the street. A little while later, someone hears moaning and finds the driver, drunk as hell, sitting against a wall of the apartment building but on the opposite side of the building. All we could figure is that he was ejected and ended up in the grass near where he found. Then he woke up and moved to where he was found. Nobody saw him because it was dark and he was quite far from where the impact was. Other than being extremely drunk and probably a bit banged up, he did not appear to have any major injuries.
L
My uncle and his friend were in an accident. Nobody knew my uncle was in the car, his friend I think lived but was comatose for awhile. Some kids found my uncle’s body a few days later. This happened long before I was born.
U
Damn, I could see that happening easily if everyone was drunk.
