When too many movies are watched, (the driver is fine)
in WTF
After binge-watching too many movies, you might find yourself thinking, “The driver is fine.”

B
How did they get the car up there?? How did anyone think that was gunna work? How is that dude seemingly fine??
S
They used a crane. I’m sure vodka was involved. When the car hit the edge it fell rather slowly so it was like getting into an accident at 10 mph. https://youtube.com/shorts/awaCdgCB-9I
E
Fell slowly? Looks like it fell from a 4 story building if you ask me
D
You can glitch on the wall and land without fall damage.
I
You also fall slower/recieve less fall damage in 240p compared to higher resolutions
M
I thought it was tied to frame rate?
W
I think they just applied the vodka buff, it makes your muscles floppy so you can absorb more damage.
E
Frame rate is lower in eastern countries. You can see this on their videos. It’s usually max. 480p and 25FPS. Stuff just goes slower there, probably different hardware revision.
M
This guy IRLs
T
He jumped in his seat just before it hit the ground.
T
Physics was also drinking vodka.
S
It falls a story then hits the wall coming almost to a almost stop for half a story before falling flat the remaining 2.5 stories. It didnt have that much time to build speed before it hit the ground. Regardless its fucking CRAZY dude just climbs out like that. Russians are built different im telling you.
D
> It falls a story then hits the wall coming almost to a almost stop for half a story before falling flat the remaining 2.5 stories. It didnt have that much time to build speed before it hit the ground. Are you watching a different video to the rest of us? Sure looks like 4 to me. https://imgur.com/a/Q8LhFce >Regardless its fucking CRAZY dude just climbs out like that. On that i totally agree with you. Edit: I’m guessing the car was empty. They could easily hide a cut in the footage while he runs and films the ground.
S
>It falls a story then hits the wall 1 >coming almost to a almost stop for half a story 0.5 >before falling flat the remaining 2.5 stories. 2.5 1+0.5+2.5=4
D
Nah. >before falling flat the remaining 2.5 stories. That clearly says it only falls 2.5 stories after hitting the building. The screen shot i posted above is just as it starts its freefall after bouncing off. 2.5 would be here: https://imgur.com/a/r8vgydy
W
The stories have rather low ceilings though, judging by the number of brick layers only about 2m. With a US standard ceiling height (9ft = 2.74m) it would only be about 2.9 stories.
D
2m? Nah, you can see the door cutouts and there is brickwork above them. It isnt going to have 1.5m high doors. While it might not be 2.7 its going to be ~2.4 which is a pretty standard ceiling height. 27 courses of brickwork should give 2.4m as well. Google suggest 96 inches /2.4m is the most common ceiling height in America though new construction is moving towards a foot taller. Anyway, its all a bit pointless an argument. Its still 4 stories of whatever height stories that building is. “Fell slowly” is such an odd thing to say. Going by the time in freefall it hits at about 55Km/h or 35mph.
Z
That’s not how gravitational acceleration works.
S
The car didn’t fall straight from the ramp. It hit the wall and sort of stuck for a moment before falling down so it fell a bit slower because of it.
D
> When the car hit the edge it fell rather slowly so it was like getting into an accident at 10 mph. Thats around a 12m drop. 12m would give you about 1.5 seconds of fall which seems about right. That would be about 55Km/h or 35mph
F
9.8 m/s^2
R
He wasn’t in the car. He jumped in after it fell. It’s all more internet bullshit.
R
I love your rationality
H
The real question is: how did he survive up to adulthood in the first place?
G
They had plenty of chances to measure and even do a mockup and a few test runs on the ground before risking his life.
V
Vodka. Vodka. Also Vodka.
R
Adrenaline. Somebody find the video of him an hour after the jump.
M
How the fuck did he survive that. Vodka?
I
Crumple zone absorbed force.
O
But how did the crumple zone survive? Vodka?
A
Thats the neat part: it didnt
S
You actually believe some Russian shitbox that’s been made for the last 40 years in the same factory understands crumple zones?
I
Are you asking me if the car understands that it has a crumplezone?..
R
Vodka.
M
You underestimate the power of the Lada
D
Nobody in the car when it goes over, crashes on the ground. He jumps in before the cameraman films him/that shot is later stitched in through editing.
A
Another view https://youtu.be/awaCdgCB-9I?si=jAeQGG-D5wLI5aTs
R
Okay, I can see how he survived. The car warping/twisting from the angle it collided with the ground absorbed a lot of the impact.
J
yay for crumple zones
S
If it were a cybertruck, dead
J
But the car would barely have a scratch! That’s the important thing right?
D
holy blyat
G
im still doubting anyone was in that car when it landed on the ground
L
I dont think there was either.
P
yeah, otherwise they would have shown the guy climbing out of the car in this shot. Them being dumb enough to try the jump is still rather believable, surviving the drop in a lada niva, not so much.
U
It’s fake. It’s well done though. The dude wasn’t in the car. He jumped in after it landed. This video cuts out right after it lands. Just enough time for the second camera to clear the ledge.
A
You’re probably right — the rear windows are blacked out on that junk car. He literally fell from the fifth floor and only injured his leg. I think something like this could easily lead to serious injury or even death. So I’d rather *”believe”* it’s just a trick — like something David Copperfield would do.
D
I fucking knew this was in Russia. Garage54
A
Garage54 is more reasonable and mature — they do interesting experiments. This stuntman is just playing with death and destroying expensive cars (not Niva, but others’ videos) for the sake of views.
M
was it the Russian they were speaking?
