[oc] Forgotten Haircuts

Last week, I decided it was time for a fresh look and marched into the barbershop like I owned the place. Fifteen minutes later, I walked out with a buzz cut so short that it felt like my head was wearing a tiny beanie. As I strolled down the street, I casually waved at an acquaintance. They squinted, looking confused, and said, “Do I know you?” Apparently, my new haircut had erased my entire identity.
It’s one thing to change your hairstyle, but my shocking transformation took me straight from “friendly neighbor” to “who’s that bald guy?” I spent the rest of the day in a comical identity crisis—once I realized I couldn’t remember my own reflection either. It was hard to know if I was more upset about the haircut or the realization that my hair was, in fact, my only personality trait!

This is so specific so people who have not seen the movie will not find it funny but personally the commitment to the bit and the creativity got me

It’s practically a crime to not have seen the movie I was like 15 years old and still remember it (not in theaters.. dad rented it or something)

I’m right there with you. The amount of times I said to my wife, it’s a movie that “people of culture” have seen. (Trying to mix meme and without condescension) that and prestige. Like something a bout Nolan films at that time were just peak

Could you give a quick explanation of the context of this?

The main character in memento had an accident, and as a result can’t form new memories. So he tattoos notes and instructions all over himself, and takes Polaroid pictures with notes on them for things he needs to remember. There’s a lot more to it, but any more is getting into extreme spoiler territory.

That sounds interesting, thanks for the explanation!

Guy Pearce is also the lead and is amazing. One of Christopher Nolan’s best works imo.

A
AdamiralProudmore • 18 points
Yes. It is possibly Christopher Nolan’s best movie. The context is that you should watch it. Anything beyond that is a genuine spoiler.

R

Maybe I will watch it, it seems interesting

**”Memento** is a 2000 psychological thriller where a man with short-term memory loss uses tattoos, notes, and photos to hunt for his wife’s killer, told through scenes shown in reverse chronological order”
