I just saw the “Totally Official Music Video for Sail” like three weeks ago! It’s amazing how some stuff just slips out your radar.

and this is why we stay inside and away from windows during hurricanes… People who go stand out in the wind for tiktok, or go out on balconies, or go surfing (long story)… well they win Darwin awards.

I remember one year during a hurricane, a guy was decapitated by a piece of galvanised steel from a roof being ripped off.

Yeah like giant flying razor blades… terrifying thinking of how many hundreds of sheets were airborne at the same time

This is footage from Szeged of a storm that passed through Hungary, last Monday. I was in Budapest when this happened and I remember watching the trees outside flail like they were doing ritual dances as branches and twigs snapped off them. In some other neighbourhoods, a few trees were actually uprooted by the wind, including some fairly large ones. It feels kind of surreal to see a video I watched on a news article on Reddit.

We (Berlin) were hit with the same/a similar storm then as well and whilst I don’t know of any roofs blown off there were downed trees EVERYWHERE! HUGE ones, some that just snapped off, but several that were literally uprooted, like you said- several very near my son’s school so that the footpath to the entrance was closed for several days whilst they did removal. It made me grateful for some work they at the end of last year removing some massive trees on our (residential) street that were leaning and showing some signs of instability/dying off… There was a lot of complaints about “killing the trees” around the city afterwards, but overall they’ve been coming through all spring and planting new saplings to replace them, so I’m glad they took action before people or homes were crushed!

I don’t speak Hungarian but thats pretty much what I hard too. I knew she was telling someone to go back inside.. thought maybe she said “get back in” or something. I feel like the intonation almost conveys her meaning without even understanding the words
