We had a chalet one summer with bears all around. I kept having to remind my kids to watch out and shut the doors behind them. All the garbage cans had latches, but they still came around at night and tried to get into them.

Bears in the area have learned to pretty try any vehicle. Smell is a factor, but they climb in alot of vehicles and have even learned how to use some door handles. Always lock your car in the Great Smokies.

Very common. I just make sure i keep windows closed, doors locked and no food inside. It is freaky if you open house door and theres a bear right there.

Had bears in our jeep in Yosemite one morning. They left when the RV next door to us started his engine (they are that habituated to the signals the camp was waking up). Totally our fault for leaving food in the soft top.
