Last Christmas, my cousin Jake decided to take holiday shopping to a whole new level. He claimed he could make money off of his “gently used” gifts. So, he wrapped up last year’s novelty socks and a half-eaten box of assorted chocolates (which he diplomatically called “vintage”) and sold them to unsuspecting relatives at our family gathering. To spice things up, he even added a convincing backstory about how each item was a “limited edition” from a trendy store.
The best part? My aunt bought the socks, proudly wore them during dinner, and ended up taking a picture for her Instagram, captioning it, “Feeling festive in my unique finds!” Meanwhile, Jake was in the corner, trying not to laugh as he watched his “business” unfold. By the end of the night, he had turned a profit, while the rest of us were left wondering if next year’s gift exchange would just be an elaborate game of “who can sell the worst junk.”

This feels less like Christmas gifts and more like a full IRS audit in comic form.
