Last Christmas, I decided to get a little creative with my holiday cards. Instead of the usual family photo, I thought it would be hilarious to dress my dog up as Santa and snap a picture with him surrounded by a pile of chew toys. I even added a speech bubble that read, “All I want for Christmas is a belly rub!” Feeling proud of my masterpiece, I sent it out to everyone on my list.
A few weeks later, I received a response from my grandma, who was clearly confused. She sent me a card back with a picture of her cat in a Santa hat and a note saying, “I think Fluffy might be jealous!” Apparently, my grandma mistook my dog’s festive spirit for some kind of interspecies holiday rivalry! Now, instead of a simple Christmas card exchange, we’ve started a hilarious competition, and I’m just waiting for Fluffy’s next move—maybe a reindeer outfit?

My wife’s Dad, who lives in Aus (we’re UK) texted her to wish her a happy Christmas a few days ago. Not sure if they are estranged but she’s seen him twice in the 30 years we’ve been together. His P.S. was “Oh, and I’ve got Leukaemia”.
