Honey, get that shoebox full of silica gel packets I’ve been saving!

HEY! I have one of those. lol. Actually, just a baggie, but still. I throw them in with my buns from my pill bottles so the condensation doesn’t build up in the bag and make them soggy on the bottom. I can just imagine the mold growing under a soggy bun.

Lived it in Texas, late 70’s. Me and fam members got out with lives, nothing else. When you flick on the “flood” lights and see the water, your blood freezes. Never been more scared in my whole life.

Costa Rica faces another tough week as persistent heavy rains pound our country, leading to widespread flooding, landslides, and disrupted lives. This October, the rainy season hits hard, with communities in Guanacaste and the Central Valley bearing the brunt. Families scramble to safety, roads turn impassable, and officials urge caution amid rising waters. The situation underscores the challenges of a wetter-than-usual month, driven by atmospheric patterns that show no quick end source : https://ticotimes.net/2025/10/17/heavy-rains-in-costa-rica-causes-severe-flooding

Just returned from Costa Rica. We were primarily in the La Fortuna area and the Playa Hermosa in Guanacaste. We’ve been to CR during rainy season before but this time seemed worse than the other times. We got delayed for about an hour driving from LF to PH area because the road along the Lake Arenal was washed out…

Damn I just wouldn’t know what to think. You never expect your floor to have water rushing in like it’s Titanic. This must be disheartening

Give that gad damn rain in once, and it brings all of its friends.

Looks like the waters are even starting to tear through the bottom of the drywall. This is happening nightmarishly fast.

I hope they are insured..

B

Yea, like insurance ever actually accepts your claim.

A

I claimed for storm damage after roof tiles blew off in a storm. Insurance paid for about half of it. Bastards, but better than nothing.

B
boganisu • 1 points
Yea you are probably one of the lucky ones too. I guarantee some of your neighbors got rejected because that is literally their business model. Deny, delay, defend.

A
AllanfromWales1 • 2 points
They denied. I appealed through their formal appeal process. They gave me part of what I asked for.

B

Yea fuck insurance companies and free Luigi
