**What Happened:**
Last New Year’s Eve, my 12-year-old Labrador, Max, decided to take part in our family’s annual resolution-making session. As expected, his resolutions were more about enhancing his napping spots and improving his begging techniques. But the real fun began when Max fixated on “learning to politely accept the delivery guy” as his 2023 goal.
**Why It’s Funny:**
You’d think an old dog as wise as Max would have the patience to embrace such a noble cause. However, every time the doorbell rings, it’s as if he’s reenacting an action movie where he’s the hero and the poor delivery guy is clearly the villain. Despite our numerous training attempts, including bribing him with treats, it often ends with Max sitting proudly on the porch, delivery boxes demolished like a celebratory feast. It seems, in Max’s doggy mind, some traditions just can’t be broken.
