After the holidays wrapped up, Lucy decided to tackle the mountain of decorations that still loomed in her living room. She had promised herself this year she’d keep it simple, but her enthusiasm led her to untangle the 500 twinkling lights she swore she wouldn’t use again. As she plugged them in for one last hurrah, sparks flew, and a chorus of blinking lights resembled a disco party gone wrong. In her excitement, she tripped over a rogue ornament, sending Santa’s sleigh flying across the room and into the dog’s water bowl.
In the midst of her chaos, her dog, now sporting an unintentional “festive” hairstyle thanks to a tinsel bob, joyfully shook off water all over Lucy, covering her in a mix of fur and glitter. She looked in the mirror and realized that, despite her best efforts to keep the Christmas spirit alive, she now had a year-round invitation for “what not to wear.” Lucy laughed at the scene in the mirror, thinking that maybe it was time to embrace the New Year and let the Christmas cheer take a permanent vacation!

It seems that the holiday spirit has come to an end!

L
If you put a fake price, it will disappear sooner.
D
Smart man…
O
Also probably would help to not say its broken crap
M
If there’s one thing I’ve learned with a desk job it’s absolutely 100% do not cheap out on the chair.
J
When covid struck and the office sent us home, i had the foresight to bring one of our very nice Aeron chairs with me. Its been almost 6 years, and i even told IT that i stole it when they asked us all what equipment had migrated home. Best decision i ever made, now i have a fantastic seat both at home and at the office.
N
Herman Miller makes the best chairs, there’s a reason they cost the same as a down payment for a car!
Y
I’ve heard horror stories of those chairs exploding
G
They bought 2 cheap office chairs at my work, literally had to fill the caster wheel holes with JB weld cause they kept breaking where the wheel sits. Then the entire leg broke off and had to order replacements for those. Literally needed to be fixed every week or two. Also bought some take that’s the same faux leather vinyl because they kept ripping. They got 2 replacements like 6 months ago and haven’t had a single issue since.
K
Or work at a standing desk (and do not cheap out on foot cushioning).
L
I work from home and im barefoot lile 95% of the time
L
ahhh the remote life! where the uniform can be bare feet, slippers or whatever the heart desires! And you know what? Opposite of most opinions, it is not a distraction to work from the comfort of my own home, wearing what i wanna wear! lol
L
When your neck, your back and your booty crack are using that office equipment 40+ hours a week, Especially if you are stuck in a 9-5 grind, you gotta be comfy at least!
L
Must be a Tecca
D
This chair is at its limit
H
Oh yeah, I heard about these.
K
The thing fuckin exploded 😭
W
Tecca chairs is a scam
M
i read this in his voice
C
I look at this like women look at me… I bet I could fix it.
L
Awww he’s broken, he can be my “summer project” and by the time I am done with him, my girlfriends will all be so jealous… girlfriends proceed to try to steal new improved man.
P
All you did was throw some duct tape on the bastard. He will buckle given a few months.

chair is one of those potentially buy once for life/long time things. Used to just buy $100 chairs that will break after 2 years or something or foam will get all flat to the point where it hurts to sit for long periods of time. Swapped to a 2nd hand fancy chair and has been going strong for 7+ years.
Z
Same here. I spent more money on cheap chairs then just buying a good one
J
Vimes boots theory of economics.
L
It is like most things, you get what you pay for. But sometimes you gotta but the cheap stuff just for the XP! ha ha
N
Yep, but it does suck when your current chair hurts to sit on, and you don’t yet have the cash for a good, fancy replacement. Sure, getting the good one will be cheaper in the long run and will be better for your body, but getting there can be a struggle. Esp since 2nd-hand can still be expensive and/or aren’t always on offer when you need them. The Aero Herman Miller chairs still go for anywhere between the 250-700 EUR in my country 2nd-hand, for example. I know they’re over 1K new, but averaging around half a K for *a used chair* is a lot of money. I never had the opportunity to test a new one, so it’s also just difficult to tell whether it’s just not my chair or whether the condition is too poor.
M
Why do people even buy this shit
Y
they think they’re getting a deal and then are surprised when the quality is garbo
L
100% – like “why did my $50 new knock off i-pad steal my personal data then explode? who could of known???”
C
They write the signs like they’re mad at the chair but they’re really mad at themselves for being naive
A
Office chairs are stupidly difficult to buy. There’s nowhere to try them. Anything from 80-400 dollars could be absolute garbage or kinda nice. Totally luck of the draw. Anything over is probably well made but might not be comfortable for a particular person, but again, nowhere convenient for most people to give them a test, and when they cost that much no one wants to risk it, so they buy the crap ones and hope for the best.
M
There’s plenty of places to try them. Office and furniture stores exist for that reason. At the very least don’t buy from the one site that is well known for selling cheap garbage
T
I called my local Office Depot to ask if they had Steelcase chairs and I’m quite certain – though I couldn’t see him – the dude’s eyeballs definitely went in separate directions when I asked him that. Steelcase is one of the most common office chair manufacturers of that sort of quality. Couldn’t test their chairs anywhere but an office liquidation store near me, where they’re always out of Steelcase chairs…
A
Yep there’s nothing with anything above 350 dollar quality within an hour drive. Office Depot or max or whatever has like 10, half of which are terrible, none are particularly nice, anywhere else basically has junk
A
Just as cringy as those Super Bowl ads they had a year or two ago
C
Shop like a billionaire baby
L
Ballin’ on a budget, swag on a set income, drip when the tap is running dry! lol
R
I have the same chair. First 2 rollers broke and I replaced them and now the legs are bending. It was rated for 300lbs and I’m only 200lbs. I paid $150 1 year ago
L
yeah the chair seemed super cheap and janky, sorry you got stuck with the same BS cheap stuff – check chair reviews on Youtube or Amazon, there is actually decent stuff still out there that won’t break the bank.
P
“1 star chair broke when I jumped on it”
T
Cheap chairs cost more than expensive chairs, because they last a fraction of the time.
G
One man’s trash is another’s treasure
L
very true, we had council hard rubbish collection recently and was surprised at some of the stuff being thrown out… some did not even look broken, just people had upgraded certain appliances and no longer wanted the older model that still worked so out the front on the street!
J
I don’t fuck around with my office chair. You go to a company that resells office chairs that other companies are getting rid of and get yourself a Herman Miller or Steel Case for a couple hundred. A cheap office chair will fuck up your back and cost way more that anything you can save by being cheap.
D
It may only be a local company here in Toronto but if you want a great chair, go with U-Line. It’s a warehouse supply store and sells just about everything.
L
I wish! I am across the pond, a “commonwealth cousin” from Australia… Wanna visit Canada one day.
S
Scrappers will pick it up
L
they did (or someone did) in less than 24 hours!
S
Nobody will take that. It needs a sign say it’s £5 so someone will nick it.
L
it was gone in less than 24 hours… believe it or not! ha ha
