Nothing can prevent this guy from moving forward.

Last Saturday, I witnessed a very determined runner tackle a triathlon with the enthusiasm of a toddler at a candy store. He started out strong, navigating the swim portion with a splash that could rival any dolphin. Then came the bike ride, where he pedaled furiously, even passing by a herd of bewildered cows who looked like they were rethinking their life choices. But it was during the marathon leg that it all went sideways. Our hero tripped over his own shoelaces (which, let’s be honest, were probably tied in the most conspicuous double knot imaginable) and went tumbling into a bush. You’d think that would have been the end of his race, but no—he emerged from the foliage like a reborn yet slightly disheveled phoenix, dusting off the leaves and marching on like nothing had happened.
The sheer audacity of his self-determination was mesmerizing. Here’s a man who literally went headfirst into a bush and came out with a new leafy fashion statement. Most of us would have been crying over our scraped knees with an ice cream sundae, but not him. He ignored the onlookers’ laughter, the bewilderment of the race officials, and even that irritating fly that had taken up residence in his hair. It’s that kind of relentless spirit—combined with a knack for melodrama—that makes one appreciate the ridiculousness of life. Honestly, if this guy can keep plowing through with that attitude, I’m convinced he could run a marathon while balancing a stack of pancakes on his head.

I am still fighting for my life … I want to live, but he is killing me … I can’t stop laughing every time his voice slams into a tree with this dead serious look

You know. Most people would have failed at the first two, laughed it off, and closed the app shrugging and saying “Ahh man I can’t sing!!”. This fellow saw it through to the end, even though he really, really, probably, definitely should not have. And is that not a level of willpower to which we all should aspire? No, probably not. But it was still pretty cool.

I don’t know why but this also made me laugh so hard I cried. I think it’s the genuine effort he was giving combined with the rhythm of his attempts. Overall so good

I’m at an airport waiting on my flight and I had to stop the video halfway because I couldn’t contain my laughter much longer.

Laugh in public. Anyone that gives you a funny look is just jealous you’re having a better time than they are and for other people it will probably bring them joy 🙂

Meanwhile, anyone with even a modicum of musical knowledge is wondering why he thought he needed to scream louder instead of just changing his pitch.

I thought it was a meh at first and thought there was no way I would watch the hold video, but by the end I was crying laughing as well and had to watch again.

This.! The dude needs to give up singing and take up the drums. He’s got a perfect rhythm metronome in his head utterly *forcing* him to try again and again at set intervals, on beat. He has to gasp for breath in between attempts because, god damnit, he *must* try again…NOW!
