Germany’s subway announcements are quite serious.

Germany’s Subway Announcements Are Seriously Unconventional.

M
Is it weird that I expected a heavy house beat to drop after the yelling and the alarm?
R
[now is the time on subway when we DANCE!!](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxTazPXESx8_FNbYQMCF0iye3UGhkA9M94?si=g6O5mnHwczecXYBV)
H
Was that music changed from the original for re-runs (or licensing)? I swear it was … “deeper” and slower before …? Daaah daaah daaaaaaaaah …. ETA: more like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZMswlFNhvE
C
Seems like 2 different skits? Or reshoot?
R
Different skits, but I wouldn’t have heard it if it wasn’t pointed out.

Phenomenal! This takes me back to the good ol days of the Internet.
G
Dank but also dánke
F
I swear the klaxon at the 0:07 mark is almost identical to the first note of [Axel F (1984) Beverly Hills Cop](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qx2gvHjNhQ0)
S
I expect the Internet will answer to our prayers…

10/10 would ride.

Okay, I was expecting jackbooted police and German shepherd attack dogs to suddenly appear, kind of like this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6wd78jMHDk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6wd78jMHDk)

As a German I am confused. Do Americans think that’s real?
M
I’m Canadian, but do you mean thinking stachenblochen is real? No, it’s a skit from a late night comedy show from the 90s-2000s. Otherwise, it’s just a stereotype of Germans being stern, humourless, and exact. Having worked at Siemens and with German engineers though, it kind of fit them in a weird way (they weren’t exact per se, more they very upfront about the probabilities of success & failure if that makes sense) except for not having a sense of humour. I found they did, and their sense of humour was actually kind of close to English Canadian and British humour in use of dry-wit/deadpan and wordplay, maybe just when they would insert a joke would be different.
M
I wonder if folks that say “no sense of humor” simply don’t understand there are various types of humor. “Dry” humor is lost on a massive amount of the US population. I am of the opinion everyone laughs, it’s just a matter of figuring out the person.
Z
You told me this was supposed to be a deep house party, Dillon Francis!
N
For me it dealt like MORTAL KOMBAT and it could easily followed by the og Mk music
C
Same. Like I kinda wish that was the way of everything in Germany. Stern informative announcements, followed by a deep house beat….
M
Is it just me that is WTF? Or is it just the train driver yelling in the driver’s seat?!
M
It’s actually fake. But it says something about the way Germans are perceived, that it is so believable.
D
Turn down for what!?
G
Oh. My. God. We stayed in Vegas one weekend with our room above an outdoor club that never closed. I’m pretty sure they only owned this song. I had nightmares where the soundtrack was just this song playing in the background for weeks. They played is sooooo fucking much. I’m pretty certain a portion of my brain melted.
3
Did your boobs start bouncing in time with the music?
K
yes and his wife too
G
Frankly, I don’t hate it. I don’t know what it’s saying, but I hope it’s about people not using their headphones when listening to music or playing games.
U
„Please stand back“ German: zurückbleiben bitte IPA: t͡suːrˈykblˌa͡ɪbən bˈɪtə
B
das Zeichen für die Betonung/Nebenbetonung müsste vor den Konsonanten sein

U2 (name of line) to Pankow (name of terminal train station, same name as the district in Berlin). PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THE DOORS! They did add messages about people not using loudspeakers a couple months ago.
D
Lol.. why does the warning sound like he is yelling it angrily? I know, it’s German and it’s a naturally angry sounding language, but this is like, double angry.. like he’s speaking directly to some kid who is hanging half in half out the door. To those who speak German, does this warning not sound very angry to you?
N
I have never heard the second sentence heard that angrily, it usually is spoken exactly like the first one. They are recorded lines, so I would assume this is either manipulated by the source or it was some kind of easter egg or April Fool’s joke that I have missed so far.
S
>I know, it’s German and it’s a naturally angry sounding language It really isn’t. It’s just that a lot of people’s only real experience with German is from stuff like Hitler’s speeches.
C
And Rammstein which is not even popular in Germany itself.
S
As far as German bands go, I prefer [AnnenMayKantereit](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DraA3PUuoQc).
M
I speak it and it sounds to me like he’s an announcer on the scene and someone is getting dangerously close to track.
N
It’s pre-recorded. The voice is used at every station and in every train, at least the first part. The second also sounds too clean, not like the driver with his shitty microphone.
L
U2 – In the Name of Line
S
It says please stay back
B
They probably have a word for this
M
Startle reflex.
Z
The train conductor definitely is a Schreihals
S
On the SFO airport train (San Francisco International Airport in California), the doors were having trouble closing. After one or two “please stand clear of the closing doors” announcement, another automated “YOU are delaying this train” announcement came on. The emphasis on YOU was amusing and it seemed to work.
D
I’ve had this happen too, most likely someone in the other cars was blocking the doors (knowingly or unknowingly) but all the doors open and retry in that case, not just the one that was blocked.
N
Seems like BF1 Voice Actors found a new Job
M
The words are correct. „U2 nach Pankow“ and „zurückbleiben bitte!“ (stay back, please) But the tone isn‘t that aggressive at all. The whole thing is in a polite way. I assume, someone is just shouting over the second part.
F
This is fake. Berlin metro now actually uses a horrible voice which can’t be told whether male or female, but definitely not this scream.
