What do you even do as a witness in that situation? Keep driving? Stop and try and cross the highway to attend the crashed vehicle (I assume no)? Obviously either way you’d call emergency services, but idk if I would feel right to just keep driving…

Because the center lanes are a through-traffic travel lane. Right most lanes are local-traffic travel lanes. Only the left most lanes are passing lanes unless otherwise marked. (In North America, at least)

Because middle lane is more of a long travel lane than the right or left. Left is ONLY for passing, right is for on ramps and merging. Middle is for passing and sustained travel. Did ya just get your license, bud?

The middle lane is fine for travel. Stay out of the left unless to pass. Common knowledge, but someone once told me if common sense were actually common, almost everyone would have it.
