I decided it was high time I conquered the age-old challenge of drawing hands. Armed with tutorials, I set up my sketchbook and got to work, determined to finally capture those elusive digits. After numerous scribbles and a chill-inducing number of eraser shavings, I found myself staring at what looked more like octopus limbs than human hands. I could almost hear the hands laughing at my futile attempts.
As I squinted in confusion at my artwork, my cat jumped up on the table and pawed at the page, seemingly critiquing my handiwork. I couldn’t help but laugh at the idea of my cat being my art teacher, wondering if it was time I enrolled in a feline-led drawing class instead. At least the cat could probably teach me the secret to capturing the perfect “paws”itive vibe!

They still drew fingers. Those white gloves were a leftover from blackface minstrel shows. Mickey Mouse and Felix were originally blackface characters. No I’m not kidding and you can look this up.
