Boeing is being Boeing above my home.
in WTF
Boeing is being Boeing above my house.

S
Sucked in a bird probably
H
That sounds weird and painful, hope you’ll get better.
C
He’ll be fine once he snorts up a cat to get rid of the bird. Here’s a video showing how. https://share.google/g9X4OUEpgLPOraefB Edit: Youtube link if the above looks menacing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyJf6deLit4
R
He snorted the cat to catch the bird. He snorted the bird to catch the spider. He snorted the spider to catch the fly… I don’t know why he snorted the fly, Perhaps he’ll die.
S
Didn’t the spider wiggle and jiggle and tickle inside him?
W
I am not clicking that….nope nuhuh
A
It’s safe, it’s youtube. I was expecting bluey, where they pretend bandit eats a cat to get rid of a mouse or something.
T
You are a far more innocent person than me. Even with the YouTube link, I was expecting to see some old episode of Happy Tree Friends or something.
C
It’s not porn, not gore and not the greatest thing to play at work but nothing that bad.
[
It was exactly as described.
K
Cat in the turbine eh?
P
Now you’re speaking my language
D
With the silver spoon?
P
But then it’ll be a dog…we all know where this ends.
D
Huh i forgot what i was waiting for by the time it happened and was surprised
[
Hopefully there is a vet on board
F
Sweet! Now we can try catching roasted bird flakes on our tongues like it’s snowing.
P
Everyone has their own fetish.
D
Compressor stall
D
Do you think the bird hit 165 degrees? Asking for a friend.
A
I think it’s signalling to turn right.
H
Yes, right down OPs living room
A
Good that OP does not seem to live in a tower
T
OP did say it was a Boeing and not a BMW.
B
Could never be a BMW.
C
BMW blinker fluid costs too much, that is why BMW drivers seldom use their turn signals.
O
And they have to rent their seat heating now I hear.
T
Blinker fluid and brakes are absurdly expensive. But fortunately engines and gas are free.
L
Blinker looks a little fast, so they might need to change their taillight
K
Oh I thought it was just like my old mustang and was backfiring…
H
Probably a compressor failure/stall and flameout or a bird strike. Not really a design flaw or manufacturing issue. That can happen on any turbine engine and would be more related to maintenance issues or just happenstance. It’s actually relatively common if you spend any time listening to the liveATC-type channels on Youtube. I’d guess it’s one of the more common reasons for flights taking off to need to return to the airfield.
B
Easy to just check on: https://asn.flightsafety.org/asndb/year/2025 Any and all aviation incidents that need to be reported are listed there, including crashes and all known details.
F
More info on the flight: https://www.reddit.com/r/flightradar24/comments/1ms248f/condor_757_emergency/
F
Having a slight fear or flying i don’t even dare to click it
T
Aviation is so safe because of every little incident being listed like this – Each one adds to your flight being a little safer. That being said, I get it, haha
V
Going on vacation soon and for some reason the internet keeps putting airplane malfunctions and crashes my way lol. Looking at the site kind of is calming because there’s like max 10 accidents on a day with usually 0 fatailities. Compare that to car accidents per day.. Still gonna knock on some wood though.
T
I’ve seen probably every video in airplane crashes there is and I don’t have any fear flying because of it, not despite it, to be honest. You start to realize how much has to go wrong separately at the same time to result in an accident that is more than an annoying diversion to an alternate airport. It’s almost never just a singular fault due to how strict protocols are. And even in an actual emergency like the plane that flipped upside down after landing, everybody survived almost unharmed and evacuated the plane safely due to the crew being trained for all possible emergencies.
W
I saw a bunch of articles about a recent plane crash while sitting at the airport last month. I did not die! Still really dislike flying.
N
I don’t have an issue flying, and do it somewhat frequently. However, I had a flight home from London on the same day the Indian flight towards London crashed just a few months ago. That was a pretty tense lift off.
B
My entire family, kids, parents, wife’s parents all on the same flight to Orlando a week after the helicopter DCA crash…. Yeah there was some stress lol
V
I dislike flying for entirely different reasons. I fly at least 4-5 times a year. Airport sucks. TSA sucks. I fly to Asia to 16 hours flight sucks. Layover sucks. If god wants me midair, take me. Idgaf. It’s entirely out of my hands. I used to love flying until I flew back to Asia 3 times in a month to take care of funeral and family finances, where family bicker over every cent. I now go on airplanes in sweats and sleeping clothes. It’s a glorified bus and I’m not looking cute for anybody.
W
Tbh it’s kind of soothing knowing how robust a lot of these systems are.
S
Here are all the aircraft in the air right now over the USA: https://www.flightradar24.com/37.72,-104.31/5 It’s like this all day, every day, and only a miniscule fraction ever have an incident, let alone a fatality.
P
If it makes you feel any better, the vast majority of serious accidents or crashes are from private pilots flying single engine aircraft like a Cessna. It’s just when airlines fuck up it makes the news.
C
It might bring you solace to know there have, so far, only been 1087 fatalities this year. 😀
E
In my brain I know that’s a small number. But also in my brain that feels like a big number.
T
Compare it to the number of road deaths, globally. It’s a miniscule number.
B
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported approximately 39,345 traffic fatalities in the US in 2024. That’s down 3.8% compared to the previous year! They can get the numbers even lower if they just eliminate the NHTSA!
C
If you stop reporting, you won’t have any fatalities!
B
Less than gun deaths, 10x less actually.
