A container of moles
in WTF
A container filled with moles

M
Is that a mol of moles?
W
It’s much closer to zero mol of moles than one mol of moles.
T
milli-mol of moles
I
Could be \~1/50th of a Zeptomole, or like \~20 Yoctomoles edit: I hate how long it took me to calculate this

E
The video form is excellent too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLlwvmu1ZeA
I
XKCD has truly covered every scientific question I’ve ever had
C
My favorite part was that releasing a mole of moles “would threaten the integrity of the DNS system.” 😂
P
“But this is where it gets weird.” sent me
I
lol
X
Real shit.
Q
Amazing
N
Absolutely beautiful.
B
There’s a book called “What if?” that broke down a mole of moles. I think the earth would be covered with moles 80 kilometers deep.
D
Not sure why this is such a big deal. I have a whole bottle of molasses in my cupboard, it’s really quite common.
E
Just the asses?
P
….may I see it?
A
No
C
Nerds.. (You stole my joke 😫)
C
6×10^23 moles
V
New RuneScape giant mole collectible drop
T
Damn here i thought id be the one making the runescape comment for this post. Guess me and my fally shield are outta here.
K
Ehhh fally shield and light source are for the weak.
H
But are there 6.022 × 10²³ of them?
B
my AP chemistry ptsd just kicked in
D
I’d say it’s less than 1/10²² of that
E
I guess they’re being preserved in for-mole-dehyde!
W
Standard practice really. Otherwise, they would get… …*mole*-dy!
A
Nowadays museums use formolein
B
Hiyooo
P
Several moles in several moles of formaldehyde
M
Like real moles?? Why is this a thing…. this made me say what the fuck
S
Yes, real moles. They are in London. https://www.ucl.ac.uk/museums-collections/grant-museum-zoology/highlights/jar-moles
L
Oh boy, I hope they’re ok.
D
Makes me want to make guacamole
D
Mix in some Swiss cheese, call it holey-mole
P
Yes they’re fine, don’t worry ❤️
M
Ah mole jar kinda makes sense now if they have all these preserved specimens still super fucked up. Thanks for the link!
F
Makes sense. My school had jars of dead things for dissection classes too. They were just not on display. Moles are super common and pests too
T
I couldn’t comprehend what I was looking at at first. I thought it was removed moles like from the skin! Then I saw all their tiny little paws 😞🐾
D
Poor little things.
K
I don’t know what I expected.
C
Ginny sack had a 95 pound jar of moles surgically taken off her ass
G
I did a ctrl+f for this… was not disappointed. Maybe it needs to be posted in r/circlejerksopranos
J
OOOHHH…. Bada *Bing!*
N
Saw this and knew exactly where it was. Shit like that stays with you.
S
It’s a great little museum. Lots of freaky stuff in there, and lovely staff to help show it to you!
S
I loved the slide room there, with the the walls of specimens backlit.
E
Finally, a real WTF post. I wonder what the precipitate accumulation is made of?
S
I tried to find out but the museum is nonspecific and the jar merely refers to death and seawater [in it’s interview](http://theministryofcuriosity.blogspot.com/2013/05/exclusive-interview-with-glass-jar-of.html)
