A small obstacle along the path
in WTF
A small hiccup along the journey.

That’s Cahills crossing. If you go to YouTube you can find a bunch of idiots trying to pass during high tide, when dozens of crocs are there to feed. Some vehicles get stuck and the people have to be rescued. During higher tides the crocs congregate because it’s a smorgasbord of fish traveling upstream and the road acts as a funnel, increasing the likelihood of an easy meal for the crocs. Here’s a link to show you just how many crocs attend the feast (and remember- these are just the guys and gals hanging out in the surface of the water). At the 4:30 mark he counts 35 crocs. https://youtu.be/UeV7VFm3_VE?si=F8QZ4pwmt-9ZKx74

> and the people have to be rescued. Do they though? Seems like we could have our rescuers spend their time elsewhere…
I
Fair point. I suppose they don’t “have” to be rescued, but since crocs are culled after killing a human it would be a shame for such a magnificent animal to be killed simply because of a human’s poor judgement. Idk how Australian authorities would handle a human death at this location. How would they know which croc to cull? Would they cull *many* in attempt to find the one? Do they choose not to cull? Any northern ausies care to chime in? I’m genuinely curious.
M
> but since crocs are culled after killing a human it would be a shame for such a magnificent animal to be killed simply because of a human’s poor judgement We don’t have to do that either…
G
If the people weren’t there nobody would be in the water needing to be rescued from them. If no human being is in that area at the time the crocs are there: how is a croc going to kill, let alone bite someone?
W
That’s a lot of flat dogs.
B
Does a burnout in a lifted truck on top of it… No wonder they stopped evolving… Nothing can exert enough pressure
S
Wow I didn’t see the teeth at first. Jesus.
S
I’m pretty sure I heard, “Hey, I’m walk’n here!”…
F
Gator: “Haha, the animal path is flooded! Perfect hunting ground. I will lurk in the water and ambush these big animals.” Also gator: “WTF is this shit!”
T
Saltwater crocodile. I swear nobody on Reddit can tell the difference.
T
I’ll admit that I can’t, but I’ll also admit that I’ve never had any reason to.
C
I’m in s FL, I assume any body of fresh water to have a ‘gator and local saltwater is going to have crocs
E
wait florida has both?? I thought the crocs were only in australia!
9
Everglade crocs. Only down south. Pretty chill for a croc honestly. Till they eat a meth head. Then it’s all downhill.
K
uh… why?
F
We have them in central fl too
W
There is an American crocodile as well, but it’s not as big or as mean as an Australian saltie
J
There’s a gator sanctuary near the Colorado Sand Dunes as well.
Z
Crocs and gators are all over the globe but Florida is the only place with both
B
Gators are only in the US and China
Z
Yeah, I was thinking only US at first but forgot about the ones in China and changed what I commented.
C
The likely hood of seeing a croc in fl is pretty rare they’re also not even close to as aggressive as salties
[
It might be difficult but if you see an animal this size it’s always going to be a crocodile( either a saltie or Nile)
S
For those who dont know: You can tell the difference between an alligator and a crocodile based on whether you see them later, or in a while.
L
Goddammit. Take this upvote and get the fuck out of here lol.
A
The Rhe real answer is crocs have skinny snouts; gators fat
B
Lmao clutch ass comment. Kudos to you.
H
omfg. Love this diamond of a dad joke.
T
I knew you were gonna say the snouts….you didn’t…::flabbergasted:
L
It’s like when people post what is clearly an impala and call it a gazelle
B
Well, one is a car and the other a helicopter so quite a noob mistake
I
It’s a jackdaw
J
Here’s the thing…
F
I wonder if unidan still lurks this place.
G
I’m sorry what? Why the hell would I need to know that from a video 200 yards out?
L
Like thats relevant information to everyone lmao u win stupidest comment of the day 🥳🎉
G
Thought it was a little…”large” to be an alligator.
[
I have seen gators in Florida that large
B
ALL HAIL THE CORRECT ONE
C
Floridian and possible alligator here, I can tell the difference *edit Yeah I was jokingly posting as an alligator, I didn’t mean to offend you. I agree this is a crocodile.
T
My bad. Having a shitty day. Not your fault. Carry on.
C
All good, it does seem like I was trying to act like Mr florida instead of a silly gator joke
S
Outside of reddit people will still get it wrong. Ask the average person anywhere in the world someone is going to guess.
J
Nonsense, you can see the 4th tooth from a mile away.
T
Nobody cares
H
Most Americans everywhere can’t. guessing this must be Australia though?
B
Your social aptitude is lacking. This creature definitely seems to rather see me later rather than in a while
N
Jesus sometimes you see stuff on the internet you could never imagine all before finishing your coffee
T
Makes the rest of the day mundane, for sure.
