T
The zoom out
T
Though he was over water at first
O
Yeah. I thought it was like a 30’ drop to water or sand.
Z
Yeah where is this place? Looks crazy
M
My first guess was Yemen, but I’m not sure. Source: I’m Yemeni.
M
What’s the writing on the cliffs?
S
Random stuff, some names and even some congratulations (Eid Mubarak).
C
Yeah I thought a bit like the large mud volcanoes on the way to Aden from Sanaa..but those ones are full of water
J
Looks like somewhere above the Sarlacc pit
S
damt volcano crater

U
Doesn’t appear to be the Well of Barhout. Looks completely different
C
My stomach did the fall thing
C
yeah, I was like, oh it’s just a nice beach he’s gonna drop into, then it zooms out to reveal the beach is actually vertical and there’s a bottomless chasm below it
V
Right?!?! Like even if you could, why the fuck would you in that setting?
A
Can’t tell what’s real or fake anymore..
C
100 wins and one loss is still a losing record in this game. Pride comes before the fall.

Dude is getting high as balls, a pure adrenaline junkie. It wouldn’t be exhilarating if there was no risk. Probably has a below average level of neuroticism.
H
What does having a below average level of neuroticism have anything to do with this kind of thrill seeking?
[
Definitely not the right word, but IIRC people that do these sorts of dangerous thrill-seeking things on the regular do it because it helps them feel *normal* due to a hormone imbalance. Don’t know how true that is though.
T
I’m kinda still an adrenaline junkie but in my 40’s. After a visit to ER and six months out. My brain can no overcome the fear to justify the need for adrenaline though it still craves it. The doctor laughed at me and asked if it was my first serious injury. I was like yeah lol.
B
Or a T. Gondii infection. I read 80% of male sport bike riders are infected.
O
This is true. Pretty common in people with ADHD. I had been recently diagnosed and it explains a lot of risk taking behaviors I have and propensity towards extreme scenarios where I feel oddly comfortable
P
Bros got some massive arachnads
S
The graffiti everywhere make it somehow less impressive. Except if he did it all by himself.
G
A lot of people have done that by looking at the graffiti and trash
T
Would be easy to make the graffiti if you tied a rope at the top and just lowered yourself down.
F
I was gonna say, this seems to be a normal pass time around there lol, unless he’s taking commissions
C
For a good time call Fatima Eat at Habib’s Falafel – We’re the best! This is not the greatest graffiti in the world. This is just a tribute. Jesus saves
R
It’s pastime, by the way. Love the idea that all the graffiti is his commissioned work.
F
I know. Mt fingers are too big to text and if I can’t get autocorrect to do it with glide texting I move on
R
Happens to everyone. Idk why Reddit is so angy.
R
You had the time in your day to write out 25 words about how you’re too lazy to correct 1 word, amazing
F
It was that one word in that one statement. It happens often. Not sure why you turds are this upset by it. Must be your ~~part-time~~ ~~patient~~ ~~paint~~ #PASTIME
R
Same thought. The one arm move still looks stupid regardless, but I think the incline is not as steep as we think.
B
I had that same thought. Then I realized the graffiti is all white and I just had more questions.
S
It’s probably just scratched into the rock

F
i don’t like that the images were sped up but the sound wasn’t, giving a misleading impression. unfortunately, it won’t be long before someone dubs a tiktok song over it and reposts it. the climbing skills of course, are still impressive.
T
I think some parts may be sped up but then some aren’t like I thought a section was sped up but you can see the paper floating back and forth and it seems to fall at normal speed so I’m unsure. So I think it’s partly sped up but not the entire time.
F
The speed up isn’t too extreme in most cases either. The guy is clearly very comfortable where he is and moving around a lot faster than most people would want to.
[
Climbing skills are actually mediocre Dude is just hot dogging on something 99% of climbers could climb without issue Still super risky based on that zoom out
D
“I guess if he falls there’s that water below” *zooms out. “Oh…”
M
He took his shoes off voluntarily so I figured he was dead before he started TBH
S
no i do not like this
F
When the physical skills compensate what the brain lacks.
S
I actually think he is doing the smart thing for himself within his specific community of peers. This is what they do there to gain status among their friends. There doesn’t seem to be much ELSE out there to do, so this is for them the equivalent of pulling off some skateboarding trick. This is how they distinguish themselves to one another when there’s not much else. We also see this with those kids that ride subways in NYC. High risk, but if you survive, you are a god among your tiny group.
T
This is indeed insane/scary/impressive, but it’s worth noting that it’s not as steep as it appears. Even a 30° slope can look like a sheer cliff if you’re looking at it head-on. This is probably more like 45° at worst, considering how easily he stands on it and how quickly he can ascend. High consequence but this isn’t exactly Alex Honnold soloing 513d or anything.
I
How do u explain the overhang above the chasm? Edit: someone found the area, it’s steep as fuuuuk.
G
What sort of geography is this? Any name or link where I can check this out?
