I work from home, and it’s been the holidays here in Australia, so this has been me with a sassy daughter. Occasionally I can flip it and say something like “Oh no, I said ‘truck’. They need to get it ‘trucked’”. Or “No, I said ‘stunt’. My boss is quite the ‘stunt’.” But overall, it’s a salient reminder from the person I’m raising that I should do better.

My 3 year old tells everyone within ear shot, the bus, random stores, at the supermarket, “Papa said fucking shit. He’s not allowed to say that.” I can’t explain enough that he is, in fact, saying it when he says that, and he shouldn’t be saying it. He thinks he found a loop hole if he says I did it.
