Classic Bud Light Advertisement

**What Happened:** A group of friends decided to relive their glory days by hosting a retro beer night, complete with old-school commercials on loop. As the Bud Light commercial featuring the iconic “Real Men of Genius” theme played, they began to impersonate the absurdly enthusiastic narrator. Between the exaggerated gestures and comedic renditions, they took it to the next level by critiquing each ridiculous talent showcased, from “Mr. Shows Up to the BBQ Without a Dish,” to “Mr. Spends More on His Lawn than His Kids.” They laughed so hard that one friend spilled his drink, which promptly turned into an impromptu “swimming pool” for their beer-soaked chips.

**Why It’s Funny:** The humor really hit when one friend decided he could top the commercials by presenting his own award: “Mr. Orders a Bud Light at a Fancy Restaurant.” He confidently rocked a wine glass with the label clearly visible while everyone cracked up, imagining the confused expressions of waiters. It was a beautiful moment where nostalgia, friendship, and a shameless lack of self-awareness collided—proving that sometimes, the silliness of the past is the best recipe for laughter in the present.

The golden era of marketing. Also, it looks like the dude who plays Montez in Workaholics was in the last scene.

[Babies everywhere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h_nJE2nZWM) The era of yellow hues on everything in the early 2000s was later followed by the green and blue eras (Twilight era).

Back when they knew how to make commercials entertaining! I don’t recall ever seeing that commercial, but it’s really really good.

It’s also just the money being spent. Old AB would employ a bunch of different marketing firms and have a choice from all kinds of ideas. Once they landed on their major commercials for the superbowl and year they would have a huge party with employees from AB and their distributors from around the country. It was an insane time. None of that happens anymore. AB sold to InBev and is owed by Belgians and Brazilians and even the Clydesdales are slowing going away.

As a St. Louisan it’s crazy to see the slow death of Budweiser. It used to be *everywhere* around here and you’d find it plastered all over even the most niche gas station and convenience store. Now the iconic red and silver is barely present and even the tours aren’t the attraction they used to be. The once iconic neon got turned back on and it just doesn’t feel as exciting as it used to. There’s some kind of soul or something that just isn’t there anymore.
