DO NOT GET ELIMINATED!

Last weekend, I decided to join a friendly game of dodgeball at the park, fully expecting to relive my glory days from middle school. As I took my place on the court, I channeled all my pent-up competitive spirit into dodging, ducking, and diving like a pro. Unfortunately, my excitement got the best of me, and I miscalculated a dodge, landing squarely in front of the world’s most accurate thrower—Timmy, the ten-year-old with a cannon for an arm. In an instant, the ball hit me right in the stomach, sending me into an embarrassing spiral as I dramatically plopped onto the grass, half-laughing and half-gasping for air.
The irony of trying so hard to avoid elimination only to get eliminated by a child was not lost on the crowd. Instead of hiding my face in shame, I found myself laughing at the absurdity of it all. I yelled, “Well, at least I went out with style!” while Timmy stood over me, victory ball in hand, looking like a tiny dodgeball champion. So there I was, the loser of the game but the reluctant hero of a hilarious story overshadowed by a pint-sized athlete. Who knew getting eliminated could be this entertaining?
