Holiday Card My Wife Made for Our Sanitation Workers

**What Happened:**

Last Christmas, my wife decided to spread holiday cheer to the folks who make our lives easier, including our garbage men. She spent hours crafting the perfect card—complete with glitter, stickers, and heartfelt messages. However, in a hilarious twist of events, she accidentally mixed up the envelopes and ended up sending our garbage men the card meant for her boss with a very elaborate “Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!” and a generous gift card for a fancy restaurant.

**Why It’s Funny:**

It’s hard not to laugh when imagining our garbage men reading this ultra-professional Christmas card while standing next to our trash cans, scratching their heads at why they were being invited to a five-star dining experience. Meanwhile, her boss received a glittery card with a Santa sticker and a hand-drawn snowman saying, “Thanks for taking out the trash, you’re the best!” Now, every time our garbage truck rumbles down the street, I picture those guys chucking our trash with an added pep in their step, while my wife still hasn’t figured out how to explain this creative confusion to her boss.

I wouldn’t say this is funny. I would say it’s cute and thoughtful. I bet the garbage men appreciated the nice card.

How funny would it be if she had put real trash inside those bags?

Real question; how do you deliver the card to them? Do you just wait around until they come by? Ours definitely don’t keep a regular schedule on pick up times. Do you drop it off at their office? Can’t really leave in on the trash can.

Didn’t want to risk someone grabbing the envelope either… especially with 2 gift cards in it. I just sucked it up and got up at 5:00 a.m. and waited for them to come!

Well hot damn, that’s even more impressive than the card!

She knows you take out the trash every week… and that’s why you mean so much 😂 Peak wife energy.

I grew up in Hawaii, and it was customary to leave big bags of snacks and cases of beer for the garbage men on the last pickup before Christmas. The tradition was so popular that ch. 2 news covered pickups in certain neighborhoods because of how much they got.

You *do* have the option of getting up at 5.00am and waiting for them though, just like OP! 😂

That’s quite some effort she put into that. Those garbage men are loading up more than your garbage.
