The mistake was the water. Chimps hate water and will use it to pick fights and display dominance. One will stand in water and stare down another while showing its teeth. If the other one decides to fight they try to drown each other.

Humans are the only great ape that can swim. All the others have too much muscle and sink like a stone. Which is why water to scary to them. Even something like a slip where they lose their footing in relatively shallow water can be fatal.

Pretty sure the reason is something else. Chimpanzees have nearly the same muscle to body ratio than humans (male)

Additionally, muscle isn’t made of metal. It’s only about 15% heavier than fat-tissue per volume.

Chimpanzee King series coming next? This seems to be pretty juicy for a seasonal documentary. I kind of miss that era when everyone was locked indoors and the hottest topic was Tiger King. Even the politics back then seemed so much less dreadful.
