I created a counterfeit toy for my Super Bowl MVP: The Grass People.

So, after my favorite team won the Super Bowl, I got a bit carried away with my excitement and decided to create a one-of-a-kind bootleg toy to celebrate the MVP’s victory. Instead of going for the usual football action figures, I crafted an army of little Grass People—tiny felt figures with googly eyes glued on. I mean, who doesn’t want a team of grass that’s ready to tackle touchdowns and, err, grow? In my mind, they were the ultimate mascot to commemorate his epic performance.
As I proudly presented my Grass People to my friends during the victory party, they looked at me like I had just brought in a stray cat that only meows in pig Latin. The room erupted with laughter when someone asked, “Is this the new line of sustainable action figures?” With each Grass Person I unveiled, I could practically hear my MVP rolling on the field laughing at their ridiculousness. Let’s face it: nothing says “great job” like a crew of crafted chlorophyll buddies cheering you on from the shelf!

This is a post by /u/Doctorphotograph, folks. In other words, no, it isn’t AI-generated slop; it’s a real, physical object that the good doctor really, physically made. Don’t get me wrong, we here at /r/Funny genuinely appreciate your diligent reporting… but we appreciate high-effort, high-quality, wholly original content even more, and this is a perfect example thereof. **TL;DR: No, it isn’t. Stop reporting it.**

Ha! I always end up making a small mistake on these toys that haunt me. I assumed this time it would be the spanish text in the corners, but good to know this time..its the whole subject.

Excuse me?!? Grass people and Sugar Cane people have very distinct and proud cultures. You can’t just group them together like that. Next you’re going to say the Bermuda Bluegrass and the Chinese Silver are basically the same. You. Make. Me. Sick. 🙂

There were two things, stationary sugar cane and people wearing a distinctly different grass costume

S

I think the stage had sugar cane while the people looked like shrubs.

Is this real or photoshop? I need this. My son was one of the tree people and this would be the funniest thing ever.

[It’s real!](https://imgur.com/a/made-by-hand-IN9qDJD) Shoot me a message if you’d like, it’s likely the only one I’ll make (unless more grass people’s parents start reaching out)

Is it just me or did the grass people not actually do anything in the show? I was expecting them to at least move or something.

I
IrNinjaBob • 16 points
Yeah it seems like there were people in them simply to make it easier for them to move into place at the start and move out of place when needed, but it did give the appearance that they were going to come to life as part of the show.

E
elcaminogirl • 5 points
I know! I kept waiting for them to come to life and for everyone and everything to dance!

C

Me too, and I think it would have been so cool if they had moved like they were being blown by wind or something. I thought it was kind of silly to have them just stand there. Such a waste of potential.

Yeah think about the logistics of making like 100-200 free standing grass stalks and hiring 50 people to carry them out there, set them up, then all get off the field, only to have to do it again in reverse at the end. Way easier to just make it a costume and have the people stay on the field the whole show.

I agree. You made me look so I thought I’d share the Google translate. Top Left: > WARNING > If you cannot read this, search on Google: > “English to Spanish translator” Top Right: > The light poles are sold separately.

I’m happy to say that with over a thousand day streak on Duolingo, I was able to read it without Google translate.

While we’re on the subject, this was leftover “grass” from a [Super Troopers bootleg](https://www.reddit.com/r/supertroopers/comments/l69u1e/john_chimpo_playset/) I made years ago.
