I didn’t anticipate this conclusion.

Last weekend, I decided to try my hand at baking a fancy cake for my friend’s birthday. I meticulously followed a recipe that boasted “easy steps” and watched a few instructional videos, convinced I’d nail this culinary masterpiece. After hours of measuring, mixing, and an accidental flour explosion, I was finally ready to pop it into the oven. The cake rose beautifully, and I couldn’t wait to show off my skills at the party.
As I proudly unveiled my creation at the birthday celebration, the laughter began. It turned out that while my cake looked like an Instagram post waiting to happen, it tasted like a sponge soaked in mayonnaise. A quick taste test revealed I’d accidentally used salt instead of sugar. The unsuspecting guests went from singing “Happy Birthday” to a chorus of “What is this?” and “Did you just sabotage my birthday?” My hopes for a baking career crumbled faster than that cake, leaving me to wonder if perhaps my true calling was just to be the comic relief in the kitchen!

british humour doesn’t build tension, it just pulls the rug.

Do you remember the breathmint adverts? From “da Management”

I remember the random pepper grinder sketches, like the parody of When Harry Met Sally. “Ok fine, women *can* fake an orgasm” “Who said I was faking?” *Hale emerges from under the table with a pepper grinder

Not specifically, although I do remember there Management. Getting a reliable source to watch them in the colonies was not always achievable. Was much easier to find Python.

Absolutely Hale and Pace were effortlessly funny. No overthinking, no preachy bits just pure, stupidly clever sketches.

The hardest I have ever laughed in my life was watching these two live. They were brilliant.

I loved them, they were on late Friday nights in Norway and I waited the whole evening. Brilliant comedians

British comedy is just like Marmite. You’d either get it and like it or you just won’t.

But I love British humor. Don’t much care for Marmite though.

It’s more or less the same thing. Vegemite is just what the Aussie’s slapped together when they couldn’t get any more Marmite delivered because of the War. (No not that War, the other one.)

The Emu war?

I
insanityarise • 4 points
People need to stop spreading rumours that the Aussies lost the war because the Emus destroyed their Marmite supply lines.

Don’t mention the war!

For the redditors who don’t know, can we get a list of peak british comedy? Personally my favorites that would appeal to non-brits are: Fawlty Towers The IT Crowd

What do you think?
