I practiced my presentation for days and felt ready—until my boss decided to join the meeting five minutes late. I clicked to the first slide and, of course, the animation didn’t work. As I fumbled with the remote, I could see my coworker stifling laughter; great, just what I needed. The slides eventually decided to cooperate, but I swear I could feel my face turning into a tomato.
