At least we know what caused it, and unsurprisingly it was humans. Underground construction was being done here… poorly. (There’s a metro station under there.)

I only read news reports about construction gone wrong. But in general very muddy loose ground really doesn’t help, no.

They were much closer before. I saw an earlier video where they ran because the land underneath them was already sinking. The hole was much smaller but you could see how fast everything was sinking and getting only faster

And that whole fucking building could go at any point causing some of it to collapse on them. So just get the fuck away guys. What do you possibly have to gain by standing near a rapidly enlarging killer hole? It’s not like it’s going to give you a sweety for being so brave.

I live in Thailand, and I was in Bangkok yesterday when it happened. It’s also right outside a hospital…that building leaning over the edge is filled with hospital patients… Also, local reporting is that nobody died and nobody was hurt. They’re building an underground metro, and I suspect this is related to that construction…the people standing around are most likely workers, not just ordinary civilians and passers-by…and I suspect that’s why they’re not running. Local reaction has been interesting…I’ve already seen locals passing around edited vids of Godzilla emerging from the sinkhole as it crumbles, and some other fun stuff…On the ground, it seems like locals are concerned with the hole expanding, so there is talk about filling it in as soon as possible. Construction in Thailand is so fascinating and different from western standards, so I’m curious to see what they do.

It’s the same sinkhole and the video is just a collection of different angles of the same, single one. There’s the exact same police station visible in all of them. Also, some of the clips have been sped up to make them more dramatic. OP’s either deliberately spreading disinformation or just dumb.

No, it’s a tow truck on a side street just around the police station (the other truck is a pickup). ~~But judging from the angle it’s quite possible that the hanging pickup has already fallen in by then~~. EDIT: I stand corrected about the pickup. [Fucking thing was still hanging on for dear life well after the tow truck and white car from the side fell, and was even lifted out of danger](https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/thailand-works-tackle-massive-sinkhole-capital-2025-09-24/). Turns out the pickup was sitting right on top of a deep concrete substructure (which [did collapse eventually](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mydS0PGWXRA)).
