It seems that the regulations vary in Ireland compared to the US.
in WTF
It seems the rules operate differently in Ireland compared to the US.

I
Irish person here, this is highly illegal and you should report it or at least share the location here so I can. Edit: supposedly, in VERY rare cases, it can be deemed appropriate if it does not have line of sight at any cublicle/ urinal and the premises can show an extensive history of “fall claims”.
T
I’m not arguing or disagreeing. My first thought about this comment was ‘Why is it on a 360° mount?’ and ‘Can anyone remotely move it?’.
S
Not all turret mounts are PTZ, I have turret mounted cameras in and around my house that look just like this.
K
Its an adjustable ball mount or whatever they call it. The camera itself is a sealed ball with cable harness out the back. Everything around it is just the mount, completely manual adjust. Loosen the collar around the base to free things to move them around to target the camera, then tighten the collar and optionally also tighten the set screw in the collar to help prevent tampering. Source: I’ve installed a many dozens of cameras like that, its an extremely common form factor. Edit: They’re called “turret” cameras. Its an adaptation of the old dome cameras which they have largely replaced.
S
I’m just going by the terminology my camera system uses 🤷
B
“Turret mount” is way cooler than “adjustable ball mount”. You have my vote to make this the official nomenclature.
K
It’s been like 6-7 years since I’ve had to order any (ordered too many last time and have a stock pile), but “turret mount” sounds right. To go with that term, the tube type that mount via a bent elbow out the back are called “bullets”. The predecessor to turrets was just “dome”. Those were a pain in the ass.
K
I’m just adding details to that since I have dealt with an assload of them over the years. xD
P
You were correct, idk why he’s trying to correct you.
G
Everybody gangsta til the Unifi Protect AI 360 peeks at you from the ceiling while taking a piss
P
PTZ Is the correct term, meaning pan-tilt-zoom.
K
PTZ typically refers to ones which can be remotely controlled and less so manually by physically touching it.

Where I used to work there were fixed cameras pointing to the doors of the stairwells & elevators, but they were mounted under a tinted dome. Money was stolen from a woman’s purse and they had a pretty good idea that one guy was hooked on pills and had likely taken it. Security and management brought him down to the office to speak to him about it and one of them pointed out the camera on the way. When questioning him they heavily implied that they had video of him taking it so he might as well confess to make things easier. He did, but the video was pointed 180 degrees from where the theft took place and if he had ever looked up at those domes it was obvious.
M
You have one in the restroom, too?
S
How else am I supposed to track how often I poop?
M
Obviously! That’s the only way
T
That’s not a PTZ cam. It looks like a hikvision turret cam, or a similar one. You’d have to physically move it by hand to change the camera view. It’s on a 360 mount so you can easily point it where you need it to be pointed. Doesn’t make much sense to build a camera with very limited point-ability
T
Most dome camera are on a 360° mount. You install the base in whatever position that is possible, then you turn the base manually to aim at the right place. Some will have a set screw to lock it in place, others just a plain screw that squizz everything together locking it in place, others have nothing. Some camera have a more pleasing look that hide the fact that it can turn, like the bottom part cover the fixed base, so it rotate over the base instead of on the base. Some hide it behind a full glass bowl where a black plastic liner is loosely fitted, that you rotate with the camera, making it harder to see where exactly it aim at, while making it kinda look better.
S
Most cameras with that sort of mount cannot be moved remotely. It’s easy to move by hand, but has no motor.
T
This isnt a ptz mount.

There should probably be a sign stating that the camera can’t see the urinals then
I
“Sir, fall claims at the urinals are up 700% this month”
F
“Well what do you expect when you’re drunk, taking a piss, then get disorientated and alarmed by the camera!”
5
“If they were lining up at the free throw line instead of attempting to drain 3’s maybe we wouldnt have this problem”
F
And there may be.
B
If I’m a facility manager there I’m installing some sort of shelf/baffle to clearly show an attempt to not record weiners. I understand the situation but man this is wild to me.
A
Love your country bro, best travel of my Life. Greetings from France 🙂
B
Can’t they just “fall” where the camera can’t see them?
T
Penis inspection day can surprise you at any age
I
Excuse me sir, I just need to look in yo asshole
A
Oh no! Those cameras usually have wide angle lenses, which makes everything look smaller…
D
Little known fact: human eyes also make your dick look smaller. (I knew you beautiful bastards would run with this one and you did.)
A
Sweet, so my dick is way bigger than it looks! I can get on board with that
B
Also, due to inflation: 1 inch is now 2.5 inches.
D
Hell yeah I’m almost 2 inches now!
T
Whew. I thought my dick was making my eyes look small for a second.
I
How Can Our Dicks Be Small If Our Eyes Aren’t Small?
T
That sentence put the image of Trump’s dick with the googly eyes on it from South Park in my head. I think I hate you.
K
But what do elf eyes see?
S
They’re taking the hobbits to Dave and busters
D
Is that what cockeyed means?
C
Especially if the person looking is standing far away
K
You gotta use your mouth to properly measure the size.
A
Geez, how many people are looking at it?!
P
Good thing my girl doesn’t have human eyes. That would make me probably not eat pork again.
