A metal pole is shot through a windshield.
in WTF
Metal pole unexpectedly pierces through windshield.

D
Scary. But also – why was the driver recording?
R
I saw this video back in 2010ish on a TV show called “Caught on Camera”. It aired on MSNBC on weekend afternoons and holidays when the regular news took a break. They interviewed the person who filmed it (a woman named Wendy, IIRC) and she was filming because the truck on the right wasn’t giving the one on the left any room to move over, so she filmed to try to get the logo of whatever company the right truck belonged to to report them. The object that flew through the windshield is a 2×4, not a metal pole. She said she was so shocked she couldn’t even scream, and an officer told her, “You know you almost filmed your own death.”
C
Recording for no reason with their hands only ten seconds long trees materializing out of nowhere this is AI isn’t it Edit: thanks to u/SmallRocks for finding an old post of this with better quality: https://www.reddit.com/r/watchpeoplesurvive/comments/t8clth/wood_through_the_windshield/ Not AI! Just digital artifacts.
S
Remember seeing this vid many many years ago. Seems crazy tho yea
V
Reminds me of the video where it’s eerily similar, and the person literally watched their spouse die from the impact. Those screams still haunt me.
I
Oh god the brick video….. thats a rough watch
F
One of the few videos where you don’t see anything but you know it’s fucking grisly
R
I’ve heard that video mentioned on a dozen posts over the years. Im an elder millennial so I spent my earlier days on rotten.com, but I’ve just made it a point to never look that video up. The way it’s described every time always mentions the guy crying afterwards and that just hits on a completely different level than morbid curiosity.
P
It’s 100% not worth it. Your imagination plus the sound of his grief is pretty horrifying. I didn’t know what I was watching until it was too late. This was years ago and I still think about it
D
Fellow aficionado of rotten ilk. Can confirm your suspicions.

No
T
I hate that video and How ingrained in my brain it is.
W
This is because you know you aren’t guaranteed tomorrow. Every moment we don’t die is a gift from God to give us more time to to believe on the Son of God: Christ Jesus our Lord. 1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Every one of us deserves hell but when you believe in your heart Christ died for you personally, his blood covers the offended party (God) because it’s a propitiation for your sin which is a legal term in God’s court system. Psa\_19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
G
Is this one of those weird He Gets Us ads?
W
Nope, I just don’t want anyone to go to the eternal lake of fire.
T
No. It’s because I know the finality of death is real. Absolute removal of self. And with that, knowing someone you care about is gone. We don’t mourn people’s passing because deep down we know they’re in a better place.
W
Luk 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: Luk 16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, Luk 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. Luk 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. Luk 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Luk 16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: Luk 16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Luk 16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. Luk 16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

There aren’t many internet videos I haven’t and won’t see, but that is one of them. The other is 2 girls 1 cup.
P
You don’t even see anything in the brick video, but the screams of the driver realizing his spouse is dead will never ever leave my mind. I’d watch 2 girls 1 cup a thousand times over to be able to forget the brick video
D
Should probably avoid the lathe video too
F
Guh. I had forgotten about that. The photos were bad too. Supposedly taken by an insurance adjuster or whoever who has to catalogue the accident.
M
I’ve never heard of the lathe video. No, it’s ok, I don’t need it. Just curious from whence it came and the story.
M
Russian metal shop of some kind from what I understand. It’s all security camera footage. Guy’s jacket gets caught in the lathe, he tries to pull his arm back, but eventually gets flung at an incredible speed around and around and around by the lathe, slamming his body into the metal body of the machine where there’s no space for a human body, and you see chunks and bits fly absolutely everywhere with every hit. It’s incredibly intense. It spins him around SO fast, and just absolutely shreds him. A coworker comes running over and turns the machine off, and then turns around and puts his hands on his head while he walks away in shock. The pictures show that his whole body, now the consistency of mashed potatoes wrapped with skin, got wrapped around the lathe like a string on a spool. Doesn’t even look like a human anymore.
M
Oh good lord. Yeah, that’s one I can miss.
D
May I offer you Mr. Hands. Just good, clean fun.
G
That sound he makes when taking the fatal stroke is… I don’t know the word… ‘noteworthy’ isn’t right, but it’s the first word that comes to mind.
Y
I’ll never watch one of those videos. It’s been 20 years since my “friends” showed me the other. Still haven’t forgiven those fuckers. Jk I’m not holding onto resentment. But still. wtf guys.
M
That was the one with the brick that came through the windshield just like this video. The passenger’s labored breathing before the video ended also haunts me to this day
C
The hauting cries….. also i think it was his mom
P
I think that video was with a brick, wasn’t it?
M
I’m here right now in the comments, because of that video. I’ll never be able to get that one out of my brain. I’ll never drive on the highway with my family in tow without thinking about it.
F
Weird, that one does nothing for me
R
It was his mother. His two kids were in the back seat.
F
Think that was some like driving safety commercial not a real video.
C
No, there’s one with a brick that comes off a truck ahead. The scream of the guy realizing his wife was struck is haunting.
C
Yeah I mostly dont think it is, but I can’t remember if I’ve seen THIS video or a video *like* this video if you know what I mean. The shit apparating, the road lines and trees, could just be the video version of jpg artifacts from being uploaded and re-uploaded over and over over the years. This is how AI generative content is killing the internet though, because there’s a paranoia about every single video uploaded now.
A
Shit that’s certainly not helped by the President of the United States using and abusing the stuff. I’ll be shocked if we make it out of 2026 without them using AI to deflect from something, assuming I haven’t missed it already. As with all technological advances, it seems everyone’s late to apply regulations in the name of profit, and we’ll be chasing it down after the fact.
B
I’m leaning toward AI as well. At the beginning, the trees are all weird. I thought maybe rain droplets were distorting the view but it just didn’t look right. The lines coming out of nowhere is pretty weird too. Edit: Never mind. Thanks for letting me know about the edit. Didn’t see it earlier.
C
I edited my original post, this one’s real there’s a reddit post from a few years ago someone was able to find
B
This video has been around for at least 20 years and the thing that goes through the window was something in the road that the vehicle in front drove over and flew up, can’t remember why they were recording
D
Nah, this video predates AI, I remember seeing it years ago. IIRC, the driver was recording because of something the vehicle towing the trailer did.
C
See, I can’t remember if I’ve seen a video like this one or this one exactly.
S
This is over ten years old and I remember seeing this when it was first posted to Reddit. First, that’s not a metal pole, it’s a wooden beam of some kind that was laying in the road. Second, IIRC the driver was filming because the two trucks were driving side by side for miles and the driver wanted to report them for unprofessional driving. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/watchpeoplesurvive/comments/t8clth/wood_through_the_windshield/) is another Reddit post about it from 3 years ago but there are no news sources as far as I can see.
L
>First, that’s not a metal pole, it’s a wooden beam I was going to say, it looked like wood to me. So many times I see bizarre and wrong titles/descriptions, which are clearly reposts, but since I don’t know the original, I can only relate to the reposts from people that probably don’t even know anything about what they’re posting. The internet is a mess.
C
1. Yeah I see a lot of people saying that and I’m totally willing to accept that as the case. 2. I never claimed the thing that flung up at the car was anything, I figured that if it *is* real it was a wooden post that was sticking into the road that jumped into the trailer wheel well, got kicked and snagged the fender as it came out making the trajectory look weird. Edit2: ah just realized you were referring to the title from OP I didn’t even catch that they called it a metal pole. Edit: 3. Yeah that would track, I blame OP or whoever for shortening the video in that case. 4. Thanks for that link, case closed. That link is also much higher quality, so as I suspected and said in another comment I figured if it was real the oddities could be artifacting from so in many reuploads.
W
No, it’s legit. It was posted years ago and whoever the OP is said they were recording because they were intentionally keeping pace with each other.
L
I don’t know which is more annoying, the people who don’t recognize obvious AI content or the people who think everything is AI.

>You’ll notice I didn’t say This is AI. I formed it as a question because I’m hoping that someone else can answer it. Nah, I think you didn’t say it’s AI because you want to be able to say, “See! I told you!” but also maintain plausible deniability. And it’s not AI. Also, the only person that needs to get over themself is you.
