Honestly, I think everything humanity has been doing since the new millenium has been a mistake. It’s so sad because we had such high hopes for the year 2000 and beyond for decades before it came. We expected so much. Not just from technology, but global politics, the economy, healthcare, literally everything was SUPPOSED to get better. And when computer technology started really taking off in the 90s and making leaps and bounds in every other area of technology, the activation was that much more palpable. Then 9/11 happened, and almost everything toppled from there. We had the recession a few years later that the market never recovered from. The opioid epidemic. The homeless/jobless epidemic. Then we had COVID which just pushed all of the existing problems even further. Now we have Trump adding to everything and creating even more problems. It just never ends. And I’m leaving out a LOT of other stuff.

Most wasps that aren’t yellowjackets or the Asian giants are pretty tame. The strongest stinger in the tarantula hawk usually has to be held to force a sting (do not do this). This is still dumb though.

Apparently this was a very old Polybia colony and they behave like this when the colony is disturbed. One shouldn’t do that if they like them, collapse is certain.

Apparently the ones in my house are Polybia, most likely P. ignobilis, except the wings are more amber-colored here in Nova Iguaçu than what I am finding in Google Images. They have nests sized between a plum and a small apple, nonetheless. So not the ones in the video. Nevertheless, other wasp species with bigger nests are more aggressive, so I am at a loss.
