**What Happened:** As I was rummaging through my kid’s backpack, hoping to find the lunch container they never seem to bring home, I stumbled upon a crumpled piece of paper that looked like it had been through a rough day. Upon unfolding it, I discovered it was a “map” they had drawn during recess, complete with exaggerated treasure markings and a sketch of a dragon sitting on top of a mountain marked “No Parents Allowed.”
**Why It’s Funny:** I couldn’t help but laugh at the sheer creativity and confidence my child had displayed. It was like a mini Indiana Jones adventure involving dodgeball tournaments and snack time. What really cracked me up was the realization that this map was a million times more elaborate than their actual homework—who knew the search for mythical treasures was prioritized over math problems? I guess in their world, a dragon is an entirely valid excuse for late assignments!

While holding his famous speech in front of the microphone. People forget that children don’t think as complicated as adults. I remember always paying much more attention to beards and hair colours, than skin colours, when it came to describing the looks of someone.

The kid probably doesn’t even know who Hitler is. Maybe they’ve heard the name, but who sets their kid down and says, “Hitler was a very bad person. Never draw this hair style and this mustache on a white person with their right hand sticking up at this angle.”

Probably, but the resemblance is there. The mustache is a lot smaller than MLK’s and they didnt need to say who it was for everyone to think it looked like Hitler. I didn’t even process the arm up as a sig heil.

I mean MLK himself wasn’t Hitler, at least not that I’m aware. But strangely enough he’s just a few degrees off. Consider: – Father of MLK names him after Martin Luther, an infamous German priest who lived circa 1500. – Martin Luther was a known rabid anti-semite, fueling many of the perceived foul beliefs about Jews in Germany and other parts of Europe. – Some hundreds of years later, those foundational beliefs were largely responsible for providing a scapegoat for Hitler’s rise to power in Nazi Germany. Having said all that, MLK did incredibly great things for the rights of black people during an era of extreme prejudice and racial segregation. Any “group” would have benefited from having him on their side.
