A paramotor aviator collides with power lines (pilot survived).

Paramotor pilot crashes into power lines but survives.

D
Oh geez!
T
I know nothing about the outside world, but I’d like to bet money he’s Canadian.
F
Or from Minnesota. Edit: The guys name is given in the post. Looked it up on Facebook and he is in fact from East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
M

P

W
Oh fer cute, ya can’t swim there bud!
G
Oh fer fun, we should fish ’em out before e scares all the crappies away.
K
I’ve lived in Minnesota for some 30 years now and i can confirm we totally talk like they do in Fargo. Never heard a *you betcha* though.
C
You’ve never heard a “you betcha”? Honest question, where in Minnesota do you live? I’m born and raised here and I hear it all the time. I know I say it. I’m not doubting you, I’m just curious.
K
I lived in Ramsey/Anoka for the majority of my life, and now I live in Richfield. I technically have heard it, but it was just me and my buds using it for kicks lol. I’m gonna have to listen for it from now on cuz maybe I just haven’t heard it.
R
That’s interesting, I lived in Grand Forks/East Grand Forks for 5 years, and you would hear you betcha pretty frequently. I just assumed it was prevalent throughout ND/MN.
P
What about a “yer darn tootin!”?
M
As a Minnesotan I have definitely said ‘yer darn tootin’ on occasion
R
> And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper?
A
Grew up south of the cities in the Burnsville area and they said it, thought it was normal lol All the time otherwise was “ya know…” I miss MN.
P
> Or from Minnesota. Or North Dakota
V
Yeah, the way he said it, that felt Minnesotan, haha.
D
Hey! You are correct, I’m from East Grand Forks MN 🙂
O
I’m Canadian and a guy used to fly one of these low over our neighborhood until he crashed in a backyard ….RIP.
M
Oh geez!
D
My uncle used to use one to do his crop inspections, until he suddenly sold it. He doesn’t talk about what happened, but safe to say it scared the shit out of him.
G
To the guy or the backyard?
O
The guy . I think he may have damaged a tree . It happened just when school got out so my kids and their friends got to watch the air ambulance land in the baseball field and pick him up and fly away .
E
We swear a lot, that’s more a Minnesota thing I’d bet.
K
Morty is that you?
A
First thing that popped into my head!
R
When I opened this thread, I knew exactly what the top comment would be. I love reddit.

M
Morty, I told you to watch out for those power lines! How many times do I have to tell you, Morty? Jesus Christ Morty! We’re gonna die, Morty! 100 years Morty! How can we have 100 years of you die, Morty?
I
Watch your language
V
Whoa 😲 Language 😳
S
Golly gee motherfuckin wilikers!
D
My wife said I can get one as long as my life insurance is paid.
K
Don’t let her do pre flight check
R
🤣🤣
D
lol she didn’t say she’d buy it for me.
T
Paramotoring is surprisingly safe. At least relative to what you would expect. As I recall, it’s even safer than riding a motorcycle.
D
As long as you’re nowhere near power lines lol FR though, I have wanted to paramotor and/or ultralight a long time. It’s just not in the budget right now.
D
I’m a paramotor pilot myself. Trust me, you absolutely do want to get one. It’s awesome. You’ll never want to do anything else with your free time <3
_
So usually flying your own planes and what not negates life insurance, they have activities that if you die doing you do not get paid.
D
Hey, on the plus side, they’ll now get to compete in the Paralympics.
