Return to Purity – Tulsa, OK

One sunny afternoon in Tulsa, I decided to take a leisurely stroll through the park, feeling nostalgic about my carefree childhood. As I wandered, I spotted a group of kids flying kites, their laughter echoing in the air. In a moment of spontaneity, I thought, “Why not relive that joy?” I approached them, borrowed a kite, and before I knew it, I was running around like a kid, trying to keep it airborne. Just as I got caught up in the thrill, my foot snagged on a rogue tree root, and I went tumbling down, kite and all, landing in a patch of dandelions.
As I lay there, tangled in string and weeds, I suddenly became the focus of the kids’ giggles. Instead of concern, they cheered me on like I was some sort of fallen superhero. “You’re doing it wrong!” one yelled, while another added, “You need a cape!” It struck me how quickly I went from trying to capture the innocence of childhood to becoming the punchline of my own adventure. I may have returned to innocence, but it turns out I also returned to the world of epic fails—complete with a side of dandelions and a new collection of kids’ laughter echoing in my ears!
