The tattoo artist, who was also his buddy from college, had promised it would look “sick,” but Dave now realized it looked more like a lizard in a bad mood. As he sat in the chair, ready for the laser treatment, he noticed a sign that read, “First session: pain is temporary; your bad decisions are forever.”
Just as the laser zapped the dragon, Dave couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all—he had come full circle from “What was I thinking?” to “What will I be thinking next?” The technician, trying to ease his nerves, quipped, “Hey, at least you don’t have to worry about the lizard getting sunburned!” Dave chuckled, realizing that while his tattoo removal journey was painful, it was also the best therapy session he never signed up for.
