The flesh from the air conditioning drain line
in WTF
The meat found in the air conditioning drain line.

S
The what now?
A
The meat? Your a/c doesn’t have meat in it?
N
If you don’t keep your meat, you can’t have any cooling! How can you have any cooling if you don’t keep your meat?
P
All in all it’s just another vent in the wall
G
This was amazing, if I had awards I’d give you one Edit: wait I forgot I did have some awards
H
Right? How else are you supposed to keep it at I food-safe temperature? 🙄

A
I feel a bit sick reading this shit
N
Congratulations. You’re not a psychopath.
D
I mean not feeling sick is not correlating to psychopathy right? We’re just hardened I guess.
T
That link is staying blue
A
Right? I’m glad they warned us
T
Mine’s teal, but I get you bro. That’s a no for me as well.
A
Carl Stotter survived the strangulation and drowning attempts. For some reason, Dennis let him go. But Carl was disowned by his family because he was gay. They actually unplugged their phones so Carl couldn’t call them successfully. The police also didn’t believe Carl because he was gay. Extremely sad. TIL. https://youtu.be/vqLjV9Ox_m4?si=HYhZoJHFEy6hhl-I
Q
And then the cops wonder why gay people protest when they try to join in on pride parades smh
S
Well, after all [they were made of meat](https://youtu.be/T6JFTmQCFHg).
K
Here it is. Glad someone linked it.
B
What the hell. You see the last 5 seconds of that video? The detective’s voice changes like *Goa’uld* from Stargate.
P
Well shit! Where was the rest of the body!?
E
They working on star trek food.
F
Not so such, no.
A
Shame.
F
Been missing out my entire life. Shame indeed.
O
You mean YOURS doesn’t have meat in it……….HEY EVERYBODY THIS GUY DOESNT HAVE MEAT IN HIS AC
4
I’m pretty(hopefully) positive that mine’s a vegetarian.
F
If it’s kombucha it’s called the Mother: if it’s an AC compressor drain it’s called the Meat.
R
Condensate Drain, and it comes from the evaporator, not the compressor. Sorry I work in HVAC, otherwise I normally wouldn’t engage in such pedantry.
B
Back in the attic worm!
R
Nah, I do the big commercial stuff. Screw that crawling around a 120deg attic trying to fix it before you die of heat stroke.
B
Nice.
T
All they need now is some potatoes, onions maybe some herbs and a little heavy cream and baby you got a stew going!

Not issue. TISSUE.
B
I mean, that AC unit was made by meat, out of materials clawed from the earth by meat, and installed in a home that was both built by meat, and is lived in by meat. It shouldn’t be surprising to find some meat along the way. [We’re made out of meat.](https://www.mit.edu/people/dpolicar/writing/prose/text/thinkingMeat.html)
A
Right, a free snack. I don’t see the issue here?
[
It’s a build-up of mold, mildew, sludge, etc from everytime the water just sits. AC guy told me to pour a gallon of hot water with a cap full of clorox down the line once a month to fix the issue. It worked. No more build-up.
H
Yup a squidge of bleach every month will keep this from building up. Also, who the fuck isn’t cleaning their drain lines? EDIT: Since I got so many replies, here’s a quick [guide](https://www.homeserve.com/en-us/blog/how-to/how-to-clean-an-ac-drain-line/)
B
you’d be absolutely gobsmacked
W
Ok I’m like fairly handy and DIY – I’ve basically never done anything with my ac. Like…it’s outside. It runs great. What do you even look for
H
Your handler inside your house will have a drip pan with a drain line. Pour the bleach mixture into it.
B
is this a “nice to have” maintenance or a “must do” maintenance? my air handler is in my crawlspace and I can’t get in there (disability) so I would need to hire someone for it. if it’s a nice but not necessary task I’d rather skip it.
S
My clogged line caused the overflow to flood my back guest room. Didn’t even notice i til I walked in and the floor boards had a squish to them. NO FUN. It’s especially likely to get clogged if your intake is near the floor and you have pets . Now I use a mini shop vac to clear the lines every couple months.
H
Check with local HVAC companies; many have a monthly maintenance plan where they come out, check the major stuff, clean the lines, and clean the exchanger in the handler. This is unfortunately a must do, you may want to see if there is any access to do this away from the crawl space since this expecting people to get into the crawl space for this regularly an a bit much. You could also help make it not required as often by using a shop vac to suck out the outside drip pipe which will clean that end out
H
Your handler will eventually freeze over if you don’t clean the line. Sooo I would say a must do. Do you have anyone that could help you? It literally takes like 30 seconds.
R
No it won’t, the condensate pan will just overflow and drip all over the place. If its freezing up, you have another problem.
H
Depends on if you have an actual pan or not. Some have the line interior and dont use a drip pan. And if her unit is in the attic a overflowing drip pan is an issue too so it’s still a “must do”.
R
I was referring to the internal pan under the evap coil.
B
Thank for the added info I’ll ask around
X
The meat of course.
