The manner in which your parents recount their journey to school.
in WTF
The way your parents recount their journey to school.

T
How are they doing this so casually
S
Them grippers
M
Same rules apply for being cautious as well as being casual – one minor mistake and you’re absolutely fucked. Might as well look confident while doing it?
R
off context, but you summarized my trading strategy, will steal it.
A
I’ll see you on r/WallStreetBets, brother! WITNESS ME!
I
Probably locals who do this everyday
C
It’s like using the B run function in the original Mario Brothers game. Anytime I held that guy down and just kept running and jumping, I was ok.
T
Why would anyone need to cross there so badly?
S
To get to the other side!
O
This is Nepal. In the rainy season floods will cut off remote villages from other villages/cities. My guess is that they are travelling between villages with essential supplies.
E
I don’t see no school
T
It’s another 10 kilometer uphill.
F
…in both directions
V
Hobbits
D
The way they make this look like a normal commute is incredible
P
For real. If I had to make this to save my life, I’d just stay on the other side.
A
I think we’re looking at a weird angle or scale of it. And that ridge right after the waterfall/stream ends is actually way wider and safer than the perspective lends to it. Like mountain biking the White Line in Sedona. When you see it from another ridge, mountain biking that looks *insane*. But when you see videos of people actually on it, it doesn’t look anywhere near as bad (still nuts, I wouldn’t do it).
Z
You very well may be correct, but it looks like the last waterfall is steep enough that the water is shooting off the edge instead of clinging to it. That makes me think this may actually be crazy steep and narrow. Well, that and the fact the first guy does a jump step type thing to get up onto the next ‘step’ instead of stepping forward with his rear foot to get a better angle. But it is a weird perspective and the colors blend heavily, so you might be right!
B
Could be but it isn’t filmed from very far off, you can see the path leading to the camera person when they pan to the right.
C
I think it is tilted. Look at the rock patterns above the hikers. Tilt your screen until the pattern points straight down and you see the real angle of the cliff. Still steep but now the path at the end is fairly level and wider than it looked before.
A
It’s absolutely insane that human beings are involuntarily having to take such enormous risks in the 21st century…. There’s not even a chain fixt to the wall to hold on to, it is literally slip and die :/ Also, when I went to school it was just like this but uphill both ways too 😉
D
I wish it was that easy going to school when I was younger!
W
Oh yeah. I could only *wish* it was warm enough that water was liquid. Standing around in the dark for God knows how long every morning for twelve years with nothing between me and the North Pole but a barbed wire fence. And with that blown down, too.
W
Right?!
T
We didn’t even HAVE right back then, you had to make three lefts!
W
You had three?!
A
I remember going to kindergarten like that. We all had to bring our own bamboo sticks to brush our teeth after the meal.
W
I’d probably ditch the umbrella. One strong gust of wind on that cliff side and it’s over.
U
Nuh uh. You hold the umbrella and float down gently like a leaf. I seen’t it on TV so it has to be true.

Mary Poppins is a fantasy
B
My God Holmes, you’ve done it again
U
She’s my fantasy too, dawg.
V
Mary poppin that pussy am I right guys?
T
“Oh no, I don’t want to get wet. I’d rather…..die”.
B
>One strong gust of wind on that cliff side and it’s over. One _anything_ and it’s over.
B
I would hold it very loosely so if it gusts it just flies off
P
Barefooting.
J
They didn’t want their shoes to get wet. Notice at the very end the first guy has put his shoes back on already.
D
That was the most insane part for me. Id hurt my foot on a pebble or stub my toe then just fall off and die.
B
Some climbers prefer barefoot over climbing shoes (better grip and feel), but their feet are properly calloused up for that kind of stuff lol. Most of us are so used to shoes or sandals that we dont develop thick enough callouses.
D
When that is your life and your do it everyday of the school years; you figure out what works.
A
This is what it looked like for your parents going DOWNHILL, for them it was uphill to school both ways.
G
Lol I came to post it was uphill both ways
K
In my case we had to climb *up* that waterfall both ways!
J
wtf? Is that a rockfall? Like a waterfall but with rocks? Feels like they’re cheating death with every step.
W
It’s water. The water is dark because it has dirt in it. I’m guessing a flash flood or a diverted stream.
W
This clearly can’t be as ass-clenching dangerous as it looks, but holy shit do they make it look easy
O
No snow? Those people have it easy.
Y
the craziest part is doing it with open umbrellas. it means you can’t keep your centre of gravity as close to the rockface as possible, your vision is obscured somewhat, you don’t have a hand free that might be useful for gripping the rocks, you have to use a small part of your attention on umbrella wrangling and you are vulnerable to wind gusts.
