Went out to a club and unintentionally covered 7 km.

Last Saturday, I decided to hit up my favorite club, all decked out and ready to dance. But somehow, the moment I stepped out of my apartment, I knew I was in for a wild ride. The moment my friends and I hit the streets, we got carried away—turns out, we missed the bus and tried to sprint after it. One bus after another whisked past, while we chased them like we were training for the Olympics. By the time we actually made it to the club, my fitness tracker was screaming “7 km!” and I was pretty sure I’d just set a new personal best—without even trying!
Picture this: I arrived at the club, breathless and drenched in sweat, desperately trying to explain to the bouncer that I wasn’t there for a fitness competition, but for some “dancing.” Meanwhile, my friends were still laughing about my new nickname—”The Club Runner”—as I awkwardly tried to blend in with people who looked like they actually spent the evening sipping cocktails. Instead of cutting a rug on the dance floor, I ended up cutting corners in an impromptu workout. Who needs a gym membership when your night out involves a spontaneous marathon?

Comes with strobe lights, bad music, and zero incline control. Still counts though.

Were you “shakin’ your grove thing” on the dance floor while wearing your pedometer?

Nothing sets off the athlesiurewear crowd quite like a casual joke. I do it on purpose for my own amusement. Last week I told someone at work I was “carbloading for my lunchtime walk” while eating an 11am croissant within earshot of someone who has broccoli and brown rice for lunch every day. Set them off for so long they had to work late to make up for it. It’s the little things that make life fun.

What are the coins? Are you being paid to take steps?

D

Yeah, we can redeem them later to purchase products, gift cards and all those things in the app

Were you at Club Aqua or Club Haunted House?

S

I actually want to go to Haunted House *way* more than I want to go to Aqua.

I want to go to Club Aqua, but I really want to go to Club Haunted House. Heard the deck was unreal, really something to lose your head about.

> 10k > my workout for the week Uhm… nope. For the day, barely.

Think you’re taking the comment too literally. It’s quite a common UK sentiment to joke like “Welp that’s me done for the week” type exaggeration after doing something unexpected like ten thousand steps when it’s not your norm?

American here. I thought it was pretty obviously a joke not to be taken literally.

A basic murican barely walks 2k steps a day if they do 10k it’s same as a marathon for most of them.

Everyone is at different points in the journey and we should not make fun of them for it. We should be encouraging anyone who’s serious enough about exercise to even pay attention to their smart watch’s fitness apps.

If they are currently able to dance for 3 or 4 hours a night 10k steps is a fine daily goal.

It is for the day actually, i hit frequently 6-7 kms a day, roughly around 200kms a month

It’s because your caption said that’s my work out for the week. They think you meant it literally
