When excessive trust was put in the new person (.. whether male or female) at the workplace.
in WTF
When you ended up relying too much on the newcomer at work (whether a guy or girl).

O
It’s insane how the entire crowd is unfazed but only one girl has the proper reaction.
P
Well, they are like – is that it? Just one hit?
L
This guy was insanely lucky. If she had been about an inch more on target and clipped that concrete block, that sledgehammer could have deflected at a 45 degree angle and obliterated his jaw. Axes and sledgehammers are VERY good at deflecting their momentum seemingly instantly when they hit the edge of a thing.
S
Lucky for him it doesn’t seem to be a real sledgehammer. You can see when she starts swinging it flexes like it’s made of rubber. It probably still hurt though but I bet he’s fine.
L
Flexible sledgehammers are a real thing. The reason for them is that the flexible handles reduce vibration and shock in the user’s fingers, hands, wrists and arms, especially if used for many hours per day. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SEVm1rBHvEI That said, it’s possible this was a completely fake trick by design, but I have seen this done in a real capacity before, because if the sledgehammer user is on target, this is actually a relatively safe thing to do, given how well the concrete block spreads the force out onto the man’s stomach. Therefore, I’m inclined to believe what we’re seeing here is real. I hope he’s okay and escaped with just a few broken ribs.
H
I don’t know. Seems like he didn’t enjoy that.
P
lol not sure why you got downvoted, it literally bends like a wet noodle on the upswing
S
Because a flexible handle on a sledgehammer does not equate to a fake hammer. Sledge hammers can come with flexible handles to reduce the shock from impacts affecting your hands.
P
Those two women with the singular clap of anxiety.
F
The two little kids sitting in front of look like they are laughing.
J
She was looking the other way and didn’t see the miss, she just saw he’d rolled over and was eager to mosey along to what she was staring at? She could have already noticed the guy has a steel plate under his shirt which is why the hammer makes a metal sound.
B
I reacted more watching it on my phone than anyone in that audience
I
I’m still full body flinching from like 3 minutes ago.
C
Well, at least it didn’t hit the nuts
S
Two slow claps is not the perfect reaction to watching someone’s ribcage get smashed?

Watch it again slowly. The block didn’t move that far, she was already missing it. Not saying the guy isn’t stupid, only that.. both of them are stupid.
D
She didn’t even line up the swing.
F
I doubt she does this on the regular.
G
she was REALLY close to the edge of the block. him moving the block a little bit made her miss, yes, but her swing was terrible. it really was kinda both their fault
F
He has to brace for the hit. Probably should have positioned it, braced, repositioned, etc until it was sitting in a good spot. Either way she was clipping the edge with that swing and most likely going to glance down onto his chest. Not that I’m faulting her accuracy. It’s surprisingly hard to swing a heavy hammer right where you intend to. That’s why people get paid to do that sort of work.
P
That one woman starting to clap in the background
P
Only one clap though. It was just *quite* good
H
There were definitely two claps in there. She knows what she likes.
P
She was trying to start a round of applause and just misread the entire room 😂
F
Robert Baratheon v Rhaegar at the Trident.
B
The way I split his breast plate……..lolz
P
Bobby B: Gods I was strong then
D
Shaka, when the walls fell.
W
No rubies in the ford tho
A
That is going to leave a mark.
N
He’s done as far as I can tell lol
T
If you go frame by frame I’m almost positive he has a steel plate under his shirt and that this was planned. If not intentionally planned for comedic effect then might be a real accident with the plate for safety reasons, but the movement of his stomach seems off for it to be a direct hit with nothing under, and it’s at least 50% his fault for how he breathed which moved the block (part of what makes me think it might be planned, the thing moved a TON) Also when he rolls over it looks like he intentionally holds his clothes to hide where the plate would be and pushes it up “revealing” his stomach. Could just be coincidence but also could likely be a professional putting on a good show. I’m like 70% on whether it was planned but 95% on him having a plate under there. Edit: /u/eggn00dles pointed out the last frame which is even more clear than what I had originally saw. I’m now as close to positive as possible without seeing the plate itself that he had one, and with his (successful) attempts to conceal it I would bet a healthy amount that this was planned
S
God I hope so, that might have killed him otherwise considering how close to his heart she hit
B
If it makes ya feel better, you can hear a pretty distinct ‘clang’ when the hammer hits. It also bounces back pretty well. Flesh doesn’t allow for either of those things to happen.
E
just looking at the final frame the towel is being supported by something. definitely a plate inside the towel
C
I think the towel is just on the brick. He rolls it to the side but then slides back and rests on the brick.
T
Oh man I didn’t even notice that one. That puts me at 99% there’s a plate there, nice spot
F
Looks like that’s the cement block.
G
It looks like the handle catches the corner of the brick and that’s what makes a noise.
D
Reddit loves their death diagnoses. No that’s going to kill most people. At most it will break a rib or xyphoid process.
D
Even if there was a plate there would still be a massive amount of force transferred directly into his body. A plate would not help much.
D
Look up plate armor
D
Plate armor is effective against slashing and piercing weapons, bludgeoning weapons and techniques were specifically deployed for use against plate armor because they still work.
D
Now look up what a warhammer looks like. You can even go buy a metal plate and a sledgehammer and see what happens when you hit them.
D
I have no idea what it is you think you’re communicating
F
Him laying on/over the concrete block after he turns over would also explain the shape. His body deforms where it is hit with the hammer, it doesn’t look like a strike on a plate.
D
It hits the plate then slides up onto his ribs.
T
Good point about it possibly being the concrete block, I’ll concede that it might account for the last frame, but for the hammer hit itself it isn’t clear enough to say for sure, and the frames before it hit still look awfully stiff and probably has a plate. Maybe part of it is hopium but it really just looks off if there’s no plate involved
_
> His body deforms where it is hit with the hammer, it doesn’t look like a strike on a plate. Hard disagree. Go frame by frame and you see that his chest actually doesn’t really deform and it very much does look like he has some sort rectangular plate on his upper chest.
